Lindsay and Matt's path to meeting each other started much further back than most people are aware. When Lindsay moved back to Tulsa in 2018 she met Katie Ritchie at the birthday dinner of a mutual friend. Katie and Lindsay arrived early and were seated at one end of a table where they chatted all night about adventures, future plans, and love of travel. This night began a years-long friendship between Katie and Lindsay.

In 2019, Katie suggested that Lindsay meet her cousin, who at the time lived in Cincinnati, Ohio working for the Cincinnati Bengals. Lindsay wasn't interested in a long distance relationship, so didn't even ask his name or to see a photo of him! Over the years Katie made several more unsuccessful attempts at setting Lindsay up with her cousin. Fast forward to 2023 when Katies cousin was living in Kansas City working for Sporting KC - a bit closer to Tulsa, but still not a distance Lindsay was willing to consider. Until one day, Katie mentioned that her long distance cousin would finally be moving home! To Lindsay's surprise, he would even be arriving to town the next day, and happened to also be attending the same outdoor concert as Lindsay and her friends! Katie asked one final time if Lindsay would be interested in meeting, to which she responded "I guess its time!" Katie soon thereafter relayed the news to her cousin, Matt, that he needed to hurry and buy a ticket to the show at Bar 473 for the next day.

When the day of the show arrived, Lindsay finally met Katie's infamous cousin, Matt! Lindsay and Matt enjoyed their first blind date at Bar 473 on July 23, 2023. Eight months to the day later, Matt proposed on March 23, 2024 at his family's ranch, in the very pasture where he and Lindsay shared their 5th date (a sunset picnic).

It took many years for Lindsay and Matt's paths to cross, but their lives have been closely intertwined without the other knowing, just waiting for the right time for them to meet.
