We met at a bar on January 31st, 2020 in our hometown of Chico, CA.

Matt remembers Brynn as “another tipsy Chico girl”, Brynn remembers it as Matt just happened to meet her after a full day of celebrating! Either way, the night was a blur (more-so for one of them) but there was an inexplicable connection with that “tipsy girl at the bar” that Matt could not deny.

A few short weeks later Matt asked Brynn if she wanted to go to Hawaii! His reasoning? A buy one, get one free flight that was expiring! Brynn felt it was too good to be true and was wondering if this is what Matt does with all of his love interests. She was also waiting for him to push her into a volcano... luckily neither turned out to be true!

We went to Maui in March of 2020, during which, the funniest thing happened... the world began to close down around them. Brynn hoped they’d get stuck in Hawaii, lost in their love, but Matt’s practical self wanted to escape the impending chaos and get off the island ASAP.

The world was shutting down, but our world was just beginning *awwww*. We found ourselves wrapped in a blissful covid-induced bubble, where our love story blossomed in splendid isolation. We got to spend most of every day getting to know each other without that pesky thing called “work” getting in the way.

We took Larry on walks, bonded over making delicious meals, built Matt’s whiskey collection, participated in many at-home whiskey tastings from said whiskey collection, crafted fancy cocktails, and dabbled in DIY projects. Every day became more exciting with anticipation for the adventures awaiting us in the future - and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

Fast-forward to today, and we have built the start of an incredible life together! Brynn is no longer a "tipsy girl at a bar", and Matt is no longer meeting up with strangers at bars. Between the search for the perfect home, endless projects bringing our 1940s house to the 21st century, adding backyard chickens to the mix, continuing to travel the world together, and spending special moments with incredible family and friends, we have had so much fun together and cannot wait for the future ahead. We are beyond excited to see you and celebrate with you!
