Although they may tell people a few different stories, Matt & Alysha first connected on Tinder back in early 2019. With Matt being away, travelling across the US racing most of the year, they never had the chance to actually meet for quite some time. Matt & Alysha finally met for the very first time at Cook County Saloon in September of 2019. Matt was out with Dallas, Gerald and a few of the guys, while Alysha was out with her good friend Brianna, and cousin Ashley. The two had an immediate connection, and knew the other was special. Once the 2019 racing season had ended, and Matt was home for the off season, he moved into his new home in Leduc where Alysha made frequent visits as the two greatly enjoyed each others company. Not long after, in early 2020, Alysha moved in with Matt in Leduc and their love grew stronger for each other. In June of 2020, the first "child" came along, as Matt and Alysha ended up fostering Frank, the cutest little blue eyed tabby and his siblings. The two decided to keep Frank while the rest of his siblings went to loving homes. Fast forward to December of 2020, they picked up their second "child", a golden retriever named Enzo. Matt and Alysha's shared love for their boys brought them even closer. Over the pandemic, with the borders being closed, Matt was forced to race in Canada only, which made it possible for Alysha to come to every race and see him pursuing his passion. Through 2021 with the majority of the year still being under lock down, there was little to do but spend time with one another and grow their bond. On March 5th 2022, Matt decided it was time to lock Alysha down. He snuck her grandmothers ring (as she always talked about wanting it when she got married one day) and convinced her to go for a walk by Telford Lake. When they were at the Stone Barn, he asked the question and the rest is history.
