Matt and Tori both volunteered at a local summer camp to support a ministry with a local church. Tori tricked the boys into doing the chicken dance in front of everyone. Matt, with his smooth chin and Justin Bieber hair, was all for it. After camp, they parted ways and added each other on Facebook (this is the life stage where you add anyone you have met at least once).

Tori was going to VSU and working early mornings at a coffee shop. One night, she heard a small kitten crying outside on a cold, November night. She tried to catch him but he was too quick. Tori prayed and asked God to make a way for her catch and help him. When she arrived at work the next morning, she noticed the same kitten cry coming outside of the drive thru. Apparently, the kitten climbed in her car and rode with her to work (unharmed). A miracle. Her coworker took the kitten to find him a home. This is where we learned one girl's miracle is another boy's demise. The coworker found the kitten a home at her boyfriend's house who happen to have an adorable blonde, blue-eyed roommate. Tori visited Yoda, the kitten's name due to his large ears, once but Matt was out of town and not home. Apparently, Matt was not a fan of Yoda. It seems Yoda was adamant on keeping his feral ways and tore up almost everything in their apartment. Whoops.

In 2018, Tori was working at a different coffee shop location, unbeknownst to her, that Matt regularly visited. She was alone in the shop until Matt walked in. He was the only customer at the time so there was plenty of awkward direct eye-contact given they hadn't seen each other since high school.

Matt ordered a large, iced golden owl (the man loves caramel) and tipped Tori $2. Side note: Tori's coworker from the last story did tell her that Matt said she was "CUTE."

Tori finished school and packed up to move to Gilbert, Arizona despite the COVID-19 pandemic for new job opportunities and adventures.

Tori was living her best life in Arizona and meeting new friends when she was told, "Matt Taylor moved to Phoenix, AZ." She stalked him on Facebook and wasn't sure who the long-haired hippy was, but it seems he got a hair cut and looked more like Matt Taylor. She DM'd him (yes, she made the first move). Matt was stoked to meet a friend after recently moving to this foreign state. They met up at the Chandler Coffee Rush and connected instantly. Little did they know that meeting up for coffee would lead into a series of hiking, camping, movies, concerts, and travel adventures which would be termed, "The Mattori Experience."

Matt and Tori stepped out of their denial and realized they weren't "just friends" and started dating. They ventured down the Salt River, climbed Angels Landing, and learned more about how to make Christ the center of their relationship.

Matt took Tori on an obscure hike in front of the Superstition Mountains and got on one knee to ask her to marry him. She said yes, of course. They started to make moves and plan their wedding while continuing to learn what means to be in a marriage.
