A few months before meeting Matt, I was working at MIRO (my dad’s company) and absolutely itching for a boyfriend. And one night I was praying and had a very strong prompting that I would find someone really amazing soon. And a few weeks later, at one of my old mission companion’s wedding, I found Matt’s twin sister, Megan! We talked about how our lives were going, and of course the topic of boys and dating came up. We’re girls, can you blame us??

Anyways, I confided in her about how I was slightly boy crazy, and she said that she had a twin brother that she could set me up on a date with. I said I didn't mind a blind date, and I said yes!

Matt texted me a few weeks later and I totally ghosted him due to absolutely hating texting. He double texted though, and so I decided to go on a date with him!

For me our first date, a double date with another couple, felt like your normal double date until Matt asked to stay after the other couple left. We proceeded to talk for hours, and that's when I really started to like him. I got really excited the next few days to talk and be with him.

After that, it was only a handful of dates before we quickly decided to start dating exclusively. When we started dating, Matt was definitely the one who moved faster in the relationship. At first I was a bit apprehensive about dating and marriage, but he was simply irresistible so I quickly accepted everything he asked of me! I had a feeling that we were going to get married about two and a half months later into our relationship. And I guess my hunch wasn't wrong! Thank goodness!

Matt and I have had an absolute blast together. I continue to choose to be with him and love him because of his kindness, maturity, capacity to love and serve those around him, ability to talk to me for hours, and of course his hilarious jokes! (But don't tell him I said he’s funny. His head will get much too big!)

But overall, when he proposed I said Of course I will! I've never met anyone like him, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to be with him every day. Love him so much
