Matthew and Kiana both grew up in McFarland and attended the same schools, but never interacted. After high school and college, the two connected through a mutual friend. After finding out Matthew was single, Kiana gave her cousin's contact information to him as she thought they would be a perfect match!

Riley (one of the bridesmaids!) was in fact, uninterested. However, Kiana and Matthew ended up hanging out instead and getting to know each other. Kiana had a very strict conversation with Matthew, letting him know they would not be more than friends. But we all know how that goes!

After getting to know each other for a month, they officially started dating October 1, 2020. "Like" quickly turned to "love" and Matthew proposed a few hours short of three years later in Door County, Wisconsin on a rocky pier that overlooked the bay of Fish Creek.
