Things to Do

When you aren't attending wedding events, there are a bunch of things to do in the area around St Joseph! We've found a lot in our wanderings, and have also found the local tourist council's website (https://swmichigan.org/things-to-do) to be a really great place to get ideas.

Here are a few things to keep you all occupied!

The Heritage Museum & Cultural Center

Museum focusing on thehistory of the local lighthouse and on local shipbuilding. Has some cool looking Fresnel lenses! Saturday, 10am - 5pm. Unsure on cost.

Box Factory For the Arts

An art exhibition featuring local artists working with various mediums. Friday, 12pm - 4pm. Free.

Krasl Art Center

It's an art museum with a variety of rotating exhibits, and with outdoor sculptures spread across the town of St Joseph. Open every day, 11am - 5pm. Free.

The Market

Has a bit of a "outdoor market, but inside" kind of vibe. It's a nice hangout spot where you can get some fine food, a hot cup of an interesting tea, and there's a really good cheese shop that's definitely worth a visit. There's also a bar with some local drinks. Everyday, 7am - 9pm (some places inside close up earlier).

St. Joe Farmers Market

It's a farmer's market held in a park next to Lake Michigan! Saturday, 9am-2pm.

There's a large beach, a carousel, a pleasant park, and various other things to see around the St Joseph lakeshore. Good place for a walk!

St. Joseph North Pierhead Outer Lighthouse

On each side of the land where the St Joseph River meets the lake, there is a long pier ending at a lighthouse. They make for a nice stroll, and there are adjacent beaches and parks on both sides.

"Where's the Witch" Scavenger Hunt

Pick up a "passport" from the St. Joe Today Welcome Center and tour around St Joseph finding witches (Matt does not count as one). Go back for a prize! If you're going to meander around town anyway, might as well get a reward for it!
