Fate brought Matt & Giuseppe together and on October 25, 2020 they had their first date in Trinity Bellwood's Park, starting their journey together. Their first date was during lockdown, so they got coffee and sat in the park under an umbrella for a few hours; talking in the cold October rain.

Giuseppe Guzzo was born in Palermo, Italy and moved to Canada with his family when he was 19 years old. He's been part of the Terroni Restaurant family for over 10 years, working alongside his dad.

Matthew Aaron DeGasperis was born in Brampton, Ontario, and moved to Toronto when he was in his twenties. He has worked and lived in Europe bartending at some of the best, and since then has settled a career as a Sommelier.

Over the last four years, Matt and Giuseppe brought their lives together, forming a path of love and partnership. In 2023, they took the next step and moved in together; starting their home in the east end of Toronto.

On February 10th 2024, while in Costa Rica, Matt proposed to Giuseppe at Playa Santa Teresa with a gorgeous sunset background.
