Our Wedding

First and foremost, our love story doesn’t begin the day we met—it begins with Jesus. Long before our paths ever crossed, each of us had surrendered our lives to Him as our Lord and Savior. It was by His grace, in His perfect timing, that we eventually met at Two Rivers Church. In March of 2024, after attending Two Rivers for quite some time, I finally worked up the courage to tell one of Matt’s friends (shoutout to Bryton!) that I knew Matt was interested in me. Of course, I only said it knowing Bryton wouldn’t keep it a secret. A few weeks later, Matt invited me to join him and Bryton for a workout after our Thursday night Young Adults service. Then, on April 18, 2024, right in front of a squat rack, Matt officially asked me out. That following Sunday, April 21, we went to brunch after church to intentionally spend time getting to know each other. We talked for over two hours, and Matt did all the gentlemanly things—he opened my door, paid for my meal, and treated me with such kindness and respect. That day, I started to see the depth of who Matt really is—well-mannered, intelligent, thoughtful, and yes… very handsome. One of Matt’s favorite things to bring up about our first date is how, when he asked me out at the end, I responded with: “Let me think about it, and I’ll let you know.” So maybe I played a little hard to get… but hey, it worked out in the long run! Over the next six weeks, we continued to get to know each other intentionally, with only our close friends and family in the loop. We both sought counsel from our Young Adults pastors (huge shoutout to Pastor Tim and Ramona!), and everyone was overjoyed at what God was doing in this season. In June of 2024, we decided to join a group of Young Adults heading to a Christian conference in Anaheim, CA. On our first night there—around midnight—Matt and I went for a walk through a quiet neighborhood. (Side note: we still hadn’t kissed at this point, as I had shared early on that I only wanted that to happen in a committed relationship. Matt would like me to mention that I struggled more with this boundary than he did!) But that night, under a soft glow of a California streetlight, Matt kissed me and asked me to be his girlfriend. It was a moment I’ll never forget. Our love story continued to unfold beautifully over the course of the next year, as we intentionally pursued both God and one another with marriage in mind. Each day, I found myself falling more deeply in love with Matt. In September 2024, I knew in my heart that he was the one I would marry. And so, I waited—with hope and trust in God’s perfect timing, even when the waiting felt long. Then, on June 22, 2025, at the breathtaking Grand Canyon, Matt got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was a moment beyond words—pure joy and overwhelming gratitude filled our hearts. We are overjoyed to step into this new chapter together—united in love and in our shared desire to serve God as a couple, and one day, as a family. We feel deeply blessed and are filled with excitement as we look forward to celebrating our wedding this December surrounded by our cherished friends and family. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers you have each given us—both individually and as a couple. God has been so faithful, and we are in awe of the way He continues to guide our journey. Truly, He writes the most beautiful love stories. 'Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
