Matt's version: It was August 2015 and I had been introduced to Karoline by a dear friend and co-worker Kathryn Boeker. I thought I would approach Karoline as casual as I could, and asked her to an Astros game for our first date. When we were at the game I asked " Karoline, would you like to get something to eat, say nachos or a hot dog? " Karoline replied, " Nah, I just want to drink some beers" and it was at that moment I knew Karoline was something special.Karoline's Version:In August of 2015, right after my 28th birthday, a past coworker and friend Kathryn Stirman Boeker sent me a email asking if I wanted to meet a "great guy". I asked her if she would describe him before I agree to go on a date with a complete stranger, she actually sent him an email and asked him to describe himself and sent me his response: [‎8/‎31/‎2015 2:59 PM] Matthew Jones: Tell her I'm a God fearing, real-deal country boy that lives in the city. I can be refined when I need to be, but not afraid to get my hands dirty and mow the yard or change the oil in the car. I'm a social person- in that I like being around people and entertaining ,but I also like to have my down time and watch a movie on the couch. I do like to travel, love to eat, go on weekend getaways, and hang out with friends. Very laid back and easy going. Not a jealous type either. My reply was, [‎8/‎31/‎2015 3:02 PM] "I don't know if I am more impressed by the Bio or that this just happened all within the last 2 minutes!" I then gave her to green light to give him my real phone number. Matthew wasted no time and texted me within the hour to set up a date. We decided that we would go to an Astros game on Friday night. Matt arrived at my house and picked me up to go to the game. I remember we were driving around and he kept getting lost. I think he was nervous but he claims that he wasn't familiar with downtown. We instantly hit it off and talked the entire game, I think that we annoyed the people around us because we talked so much. Matt asked me if I was hungry and wanted to get something to eat and I did say, " No thanks, I just want to drink some beers." Once the game ended Matt brought me home and we started talking on the phone and texting nonstop. The rest is history because every time I would introduce Matt to my family and friends they would tell me that they really liked him and that he was the one. I didn't believe it until a few weeks later when I caught a stomach flu or some terrible virus and became really sick, like really really sick. Matt called my mom and asked her what he needed to do. He went to CVS and bought me medicine, crackers, 7up, Gatorade, PowerAde Zero (a lot of liquids). When he came home from the store I told him I threw up in the bathroom. He gaged a little bit but he cleaned it up for me and took care of me. When I told Elizabeth his sister this story she was in shock! She said that Matthew would run out the front door and be down the street if Elizabeth even said she was going to be sick. I think this is the moment that I knew Matthew was the "one". He is everything I have ever dreamed about and so much more!

Matthew and Karoline's Story 

After meeting each other's wonderful families and growing together for a year to be nearly inseparable Matthew planned a proposal in Hawaii. They had a family trip planned to Waikiki beach with Karoline's family and during this trip Matthew set up a mini vacation to the island of Maui.The Proposal was set at Mama's fish house a local restaurant with a private beach setting that Matthew got down on one knee.The rest is history!
