Jordyn and Matthew met on a mission trip in Taiwan. Matthew was on a Salt Co team from Omaha and Jordyn was on a Salt Co team from Lincoln. They formed close friendships with a Taiwanese couple and were able to meet up with them weekly for an intro Bible study.

On the last day of the 2-month mission trip they each expressed a shared interest in one another. Matthew asked Jordyn to go on a date in Omaha once they returned. Shortly after, Matthew asked Jordyn to be his girlfriend. She excitedly said yes.

After a short 2 days in Nebraska Matthew left for a 5-month study abroad trip in Australia. This was one of the many FaceTime dates.

After a long 5 months, Jordyn and Matthew went on their 2nd in-person date!

Over winter break they visited Matthew's family in Colorado and got to see Garden of the Gods.

Matthew and Jordyn celebrated 6 months together and had their first conversation about pursuing engagement and marriage in the coming months.

Jordyn's parents and Matthew's parents visited Matthew and Jordyn while Jordyn was at a semester internship at the Lincoln Children's Zoo.

They ran their first 10K together. They had lots of "fun" according to Matthew. Jordyn enjoyed the challenge and free food at the finish.

They got to take a trip to Orlando to visit Jordyn's best friend, Lauren. They got to live Jordyn's childhood dream and go to Harry Potter World at Universal. They also enjoyed a day on the beach despite the sunburns that followed.

After a month of planning and scheming behind Jordyn's back, Matthew proposed. Jorydn said yes!

They celebrated 1 year together in Steamboat Springs on another trip to Matthew's family in Colorado.
