Travel & Lodging

Where Should I Stay?

We have a room block reserved at Residence Inn Downtown Kansas City. You can find booking details under the “Travel” section.

What's the closest airport?

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is about 20–25 minutes from downtown.

Do I need a rental car?

Not necessarily! If you’re staying downtown, Uber and Lyft are easy and reliable. A car is only helpful if you’re planning to explore outside the city.

Wedding Day Details

What's the dress code.

Semi-formal. We are so excited to celebrate with you! Since our wedding will include a full Catholic Mass, we kindly ask that guests dress in semi-formal attire. Think polished but comfortable: cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or skirts with a blouse for women, and dress pants with a button-down shirt and tie (a jacket if you’d like) for men. It does get cold in the church so ladies may wish to bring a light shawl, wrap, or jacket to cover shoulders during the ceremony.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors (Hello, Air-Conditioning! Goodbye Kansas City Heat!).

Is there parking at the venues?

Yes, there is parking available at the ceremony venue. The reception venue does not have parking, so we recommend rideshare, carpooling, or walking if you’re staying nearby.

Food & Fun

Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options?

Absolutely—just note your dietary needs when you RSVP and we’ll make sure you’re covered.

What should we eat while we’re in town?

Kansas City is known for barbecue—don’t miss Joe’s KC, Q39, or Gates. The Plaza and Crossroads areas also have amazing farm-to-table restaurants, breweries, and cocktail spots. The couple had there second date at Trezo Mare if you want to take a walk down memory lane!

What else can we do while visiting?

Explore the Plaza, the Nelson-Atkins Museum, or the Crossroads Arts District. Bonus: Kansas City is a host city for the FIFA World Cup 2026, so the city will be full of energy (and soccer fans!).

Logistics & Extras

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by May 20, 2026 so we can finalize all the details.

Are kids welcome?

While we love little ones, we are wanting this to be a smaller, more intimate affair so please only RSVP for those listed on the invite! If the invite or save the date says "The _____ Family" that means your little ones are welcome!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We’re having an unplugged ceremony—please keep phones away until the party and let our AMAZING photographer Claire work her magic!

What’s the weather like in KC in the summer?

Expect sunshine and heat—daytime temps often hit 85–95°F, with warm evenings. Plan for light fabrics, and don’t forget your sunscreen!

Are there any colors I should avoid?

We kindly ask that you avoid all shades of white.
