Our first date was on August 24, 2019 at the Calgary Zoo. We had been talking online for about a month and finally decided to meet up. In typical Sean fashion he brought his whole family with him in case Matthew was an axe murderer. We then spent the whole day together, just the two of us, walking around the zoo, sharing stories and anecdotes. This was the moment that Sean knew Matthew was the one. We ended up taking one photo in the butterfly conservatory, and with this date our love was planted.

Sean was someone I was looking for my whole life. One date at the zoo turned into a life time together. He is kind, hilarious, very sweet and thoughtful. He was different and always sang and danced around. I loved him for that. That day I met him was the day I knew I wanted to marry him.

We spent every single weekend together going on dates and hanging out with friends.

Sean made everything lighter in life and less stressful. He always had good ice breakers when there's a break in the conversation that would make everyone laugh. You feel at ease with him, like someone you've known your whole life.

As we spent more time together, we learned the beauty of each other. A balance as if our companionship was meant to be. We learned that each of our gaps and flaws was the others strength. Honestly it felt like our meeting was written by an old poet.

Love was coming to fruition for both of us and we felt a connection like nothing else. As cheesy as it is, written by a poet in an old fashioned fairytale is how we felt. That kind of love.

As I got to know Matthew more and to his core, I discovered a light which shines so brightly from within him. This man, this beautiful human being has the deepest capacity for love and kindness. I swear to god he is a Disney princess because anytime he enters a room or goes near any animal they see the same light and just love him instantly. There is something wonderful about Matthew that all living and loving creatures can sense and it is astonishing to witness.

Sean loves to sing and dance.. especially in the kitchen when we're cleaning up the dishes after a long day. He makes me melt the stresses of the day away. makes everything happy and does everything he can to make you feel special. That's his super power. Kindness, love and attention. Always learning and growing. He amazes me every day.

We were inseparable. We still are honestly. I'm proud of being a partner to this glorious human being. Anyone who truly knows Matthew knows what kindness and love looks like.

Anyone that knows Sean knows he loves and feels completely. He devotes himself to whom he loves and cares for, gives everything that he has. This amazing man picks up these pieces and puts them together in a way that makes sense.

I started to develop this elaborate plan to propose to Matthew. How could I not?! I started practising on the piano and everything.

I had it all planned out with Sean, maybe not In the most discreet way. We laugh about it now, I tried to fool him with the Denny's trip, but he knew something was up..

Okay this one is a great story:


On December 31, 2021 Matthew told me he was taking me somewhere special. We drove to his sisters house and he got something from her. I was mucho suspicious at this point. Then he said "I'm taking you to your favourite place for something really really special". He takes me to Denny's and I'm thinking "Is this man going to propose to me at a Dennys'?" After brunch he says "NOW we are going to your favourite place." We drive to Golden Acres. When we get there he is constantly checking his phone. Very sus indeed. It's new years eve so the store is closing by noon and we got there at 11:45. We look around for a bit, I pretend like he is not being sus at all. Store starts to close and suddenly this girl with a camera walks up to us and says "You ready?". Being profound at improvisation I say "Yes, let's". By the end of the shoot she gets us to turn our backs to each other. When I turn around he is proposing to me. I cried. He cried. Hot mess really.

Sean has it on the nose. It was a hot mess enough said. Someone wasn't as sneaky as they thought...

He's the one. Plain and simple. Always has been. I will grow old with him and brave every storm, every rainbow, every moment as it is an honour and pleasure to be beside him.

Whitney Houston in the background. I will always love you, that's what I always hear when I look at Sean. Cheesy but true. I know this guy is who I want to grow old with sipping margaritas on my beach cabana with. We've been through it together and there's no one else I'd rather go through it with.
