Matthew and Brooke met in February 2022 in their young adult bible study through their church. Brooke had recently moved to the area and was hoping to connect with people around her age who shared her faith. Matthew was stepping out of his comfort zone to meet people as well.

Upon initial meeting Brooke thought Matthew was too quiet (she was wrong). Eventually as they got to know each other they realized they shared many of the same values and both loved to laugh and joke around.

Brooke made some not so subtle moves to indicate she was interested in Matthew. Matthew eventually reciprocated and they decided to give a relationship a shot. Brooke was sure to let Matthew know that she was working towards marriage and luckily Matthew had the same views on marriage.

As their relationship grew and developed they realized they were it for each other. Matthew proposed to Brooke in August 2023 at her parent's lake house. It was a sweet private moment between the two where Matthew got down on one knee, pulled out a ring, and asked "wanna make it forever?"
