Our Wedding

Maureen is from New York.&nbsp;Brandon is from Missouri.&nbsp;Yet they both attended law school in Springfield, Massachusetts.&nbsp;In the Spring of 2013, Maureen was winding down her final year while Brandon was completing his first. The two met at a bar, introduced by their mutual friend (shout out to Megan McKenzie, now Megan Ryan), and shared a laugh over a funny video.&nbsp;Although life would take them to different parts of the country, they remained in touch from then on; exchanging frequent&nbsp;messages during bar exam preparation, discussing politics and current events, and celebrating (or commiserating about) their football teams. …until one day, more than a decade later. The two decided to connect via video chat.&nbsp;Brandon had two dogs (Lincoln and Otis), and Maureen was eager to meet them.&nbsp;So, on a Saturday night, the two connected face-to-face through their phones, nearly 1,200 miles apart. Lincoln and Otis weren't the only ones who immediately captivated Maureen on that call.&nbsp;The two would refer to this call as their first “date”, and that first call carried on for more than six hours of laughing and sharing stories and dreams.&nbsp;Video chats became a nightly routine during the course of their long-distance relationship. Generally, only skipped during the times that one would travel to visit the other.&nbsp;During her visits, Maureen quickly fell in love with Kansas City. A little over a year later, Brandon flew to New York to help Maureen, her family, and her friends pack her things and ship them to Kansas City where Maureen and Brandon would take up the next phase of their lives together.&nbsp;They have spent the first few months settling into a new home together, celebrating holidays with family, and for Maureen, a new office and chapter in her career.&nbsp;On February 12, 2025, the luckiest man in the world took a knee, presented a ring, and became much, much luckier. In the weeks since that night, Maureen and Brandon have settled into their new home (Lincoln and Otis love their big backyard!), and have enjoyed opportunities to golf, go on walks with the dogs, and enjoy time with friends and family.&nbsp;Their home is full of laughter, love, support, and is quite busy with the work of creating big plans for a happy future. The two have enjoyed some amazing celebrations already with their closest friends and family as they step into the next exciting chapter. They are looking forwarding to celebrating their most special day surrounded by the most special people in their lives!

Veronica is Maureen's sister-in-law; wife to Maureen's brother, Bill. Maureen truly gained a sister when Bill found Veronica. Maureen got to spend a year in law school with Veronica and their friendship quickly grew as Veronica immediately felt like a sister and part of the family. Maureen and Veronica have shared so many fun times over the years, from girls nights with friends, to weekend trips, to fun days with their 5 beautiful kiddies. Maureen wouldn't want anyone else standing beside her on her most important day. Fun fact: Veronica and Bill also met at Western New England Law School, just like Maureen and Brandon!

Brian is Brandon's younger brother, his first sibling and first best friend.  From toys and games as kids, school sports as teenagers, and hunting, books, and movies as adults, Brandon has had the benefit of company, support, and guidance in all of life's most meaningful events.  In May, 2012, Brandon had the pleasure of serving as Best Man when Brian and his wife Amanda were married, and it made a memory that Brandon treasures to this day.  Now, as he heads toward his own wedding and most special day, Brandon is tremendously honored to have Brian - the best brother and best friend - at his side as Best Man.

Erin is Brandon's younger sister. Maureen and Erin have quickly become so close and Maureen is so excited to be gaining a sister in Erin! Maureen is so grateful that she has a new SIL who will always appreciate a good laugh or silly joke with her. Maureen's looking forward to Erin teaching her all about her love of soccer so she can start cheering on the KC Current with Erin!

Bill is Maureen's older brother, and has played a big role in welcoming Brandon to the family.  Bill and Brandon share a variety of interests including politics and sports, the latter of which should provide fertile ground for Bills vs. Chiefs trash-talk for years to come.  Bill has always been so generous with his home and family, and Brandon is thrilled to have him join the groom's party.

Addison is Veronica and Bill's oldest daughter; Maureen's (and now Brandon's!) niece. Addison is 11 year's old. She's a fantastic musician and great on the basketball court. Brandon and Maureen love video calls with Addison because she does so well at filling them in on the updates from home in NY. You'll probably find Addison roaming the reception making sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying the night.

Cooper is Brandon's (and now Maureen's!) nephew, the first son of Andrew and Kimberly Kapp and is 9 years old.  Coop loves soccer, basketball, and video games, and being a big brother to Carson and Collins.  Cooper took to Aunt Mo instantly, and the two have a close and special bond. 
 His laugh and stories will absolutely brighten your day, and we can't wait to see Cooper come and stand with his Uncle Brandon.

Colleen is Veronica and Bill's 2nd daughter; Maureen's (and now Brandon's!) niece. Colleen turns 9 in July. Colleen is the next Mia Hamm and will always keep us laughing. Colleen is excited to visit Kansas City so Uncle Brandon can introduce her to Taylor Swift. If you're looking for Colleen at the reception, she'll be the one bribing the DJ to play more Taylor.

Carson is Brandon's (and now Maureen's!) nephew and Cooper's younger brother, Andrew and Kimberly Kapp's second son. Carson is a soccer player, wrestler, and baseball player, and is almost always wearing a smile.  You won't find someone quicker to crack a sly joke and get you to smirk, and he'll be the perfect guy to round out the Groom's Party.  Fun fact - Carson turns 7 years old the week of the wedding!

We know many of you are traveling into town for the weekend to celebrate with Maureen and Brandon. They are so grateful and want to make that as smooth and seamless as possible for you. If you don't find something you like from the below hotels, there are lots of VRBO's and Airbnb's in the area as well! Please don't hesitate to reach out to the couple for questions or help.

We have a VERY small block of rooms reserved for the weekend at this hotel. Please book quickly because the rooms will go fast! There are 5 rooms available for Friday night and 10 for Saturday night. Please inquire with Brandon or Maureen and they will send you the details. This is also the hotel location where the shuttle will assist with transportation after the reception!

Please don't hesitate to reach out to Brandon and Maureen if you're looking for ideas that week! Some ideas.... The Adirondacks are just a quick 30 minute drive north. Old Forge and other small towns at the foot of the Adirondacks are beautiful in the fall and filled with fun shops and beautiful views. Syracuse is only about 45 minutes west of the wedding area. Syracuse has great food, breweries and sites!

This casino has a wide variety of shopping, food and (of course) gambling. Depending on the length of your stay in the area, Skana Spa at the Lodge is fantastic!

If you arrive early, you can take a tour of this beautiful, historical brewery.

1888 Biergarten & Tavern

Fun fact: the bride's grandparents got married on the land where this stunning Irish pub was built.

If you have the time and feel like taking a little bit of a drive, this place is beautiful! If it's a sunny day there is plenty of outdoor seating, the food is fantastic and the beer is delicious.

The happy couple knew it could be burdensome for some to travel all the way to NY for their big day, but it's important to them to get to celebrate with all of their loved ones! Please join the NEWLYWEDS for a cocktail reception on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Brick &amp; Mirth in Pleasant Hill, MO from 6:00-10:00pm. This will be a fun and casual event. Appetizers and hors d'oeuvres only will be provided with drinks.
