We met through a dating app in June 2022. Our first date was dinner and a walk around the lake at Rio in Gaithersburg. We quickly realized we had mutual friends but had never met before.

For our second date we went out to eat and to a movie, Top Gun. Maureen fell asleep on Bob during the movie (a mixture of a boring movie/feeling comfortable/and working night shift). Bob said that Maureen made the first move and kissed him at his car after the movie. Bob then went out of town for a week, but we continued to text while he was away.

Bob came home to Pennsylvania with Maureen for two Christmas celebrations: one with her extended family in mid December and one with her family on Christmas day. Bob had had gotten pneumonia and couldn't fly home to Saint Louis, so on an extremely cold day, he and Maureen drove to Harrisburg for Christmas. Covid had thinned the number of attendees but we had a great time celebrating and watching whole pieces of ice float down the Susquehanna River. We called it our "very covid christmas".

We have continued to enjoy many adventures together. In March 2024, we went to Costa Rica where we canoed down a remote river with monkeys, crocodiles and, toucans. We enjoyed hiking up volcanos and tried to avoid snakes by day and bats by night. We frequently visited Berkeley Springs, West Virginia for rest and relaxation and throughly enjoy the laid back style of the small town life. Our most recent adventure has been the merging of our households as Maureen and her cat Gwen have moved into the townhouse in Germantown.

Bob proposed around the lake where we had our first date. Maureen knew it was coming because Bob was dressed nice and seemed nervous.

We are excited to have everyone become part of our story (and most of you are already) at our wedding at Cacapon State Park.
