Private Amalfi Coast Boat Tour
Take an unforgettable ride along the coast line of Amalfi to see all the cliff side Villages. It was one of our favorite activities while visiting Positano last year. We started in Positano road south to explore Amalfi, back on the boat we headed to a cliff side restaurant and after we made a stop at a local swim area to cool off before we road back to Positano finishing just at sunset. If you don't want to stay alone the coast line you can decided to have the boat take you to circle the Island of Capri, and visit the amazing Blue Grottos.
Please contact our wedding planner Claire directly to schedule your boat day.
Hotel a couple streets below wedding venue, just minutes from Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium and Villa Rufolo.
Flying to and from Italy
Flights
First decide you itinerary. Do you plan to travel before the wedding or after the wedding? We strongly recommend you travel after if your schedule allows as the weather will be best as we enter the month of June. Once you know you Itinerary of where you would like to travel you can then book your flights.
Major airports of Italy
Napoli/Naples (NAP)
-closest to Ravello
- depending on traffic the drive to Ravello can be 1.5-2 hours long
Roma/Rome (FCO)
- tends to be the cheapest option
- will require a train ride and car transfer to get to Ravello
Firenze/Florence (FLR)
- will require a train ride and car transfer to get to Ravello
Milano/Milan (MXP)
- fairly far from Ravello
- if you want to visit Milano we recommend you add this to the end your trip
-if you do choose to start here you may just want to get on a secondary domestic flight to travel from Milano to Ravello (via the Napoli Airport; NAP)
Traveling within Italy
Train
The train makes it very convenient to travel between major cities without loosing too much down time. We recommend you book your train tickets well in advance. When offered take the speed trains. If you are traveling to smaller towns you more than likely will have to make a transfer or two at a train station along the way.

Driving
Most rental cars will be stick shift.
This 4-star hotel is within close proximity of Piazza Vescovado and Ravello Cathedral.
Hotel two doors down from wedding venue.
Ravello- Small cliff side town that sits above Amalfi and Atrani. It is quieter, but you can spend a whole day gettin lost in it streets and checking out all the amazing view points the city has to offer of the coast line
Positano- Magical, we do not need to say more. If you stay here try to stay as close to the water as possible. If your hotel or airbnb is not right on the road you will needed to pay a bag porter to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. Trust us it is worth it with all those stairs!
Amalfi- In all honesty we would not stay here. We would visit for a morning or afternoon. Hint Hint: Since our Beach day is just a ten minute walk from the Amalfi's City Center we would recommend planning to check it out the mornin before the luncheon.
Capri- Small Island a quick ferry ride from Naples, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi. I would recommend two nights here. It is fun to see the city in the evening when all the tourist have gone and left for the day. Or you can just do a day trip via ferry from the listed cities.
Roma- One of our favorites. Though it may not be for everyone we truly love Rome. There is so much history, and every better there are so many amazing places to eat. We would recommend staying near Campo di Fiori, A few of our favorite areas to check out is Trastevere for nightlife and great restaurants. If you have not been here before we recommend take small group tour of the Vatican, and the underground tour of the colosseum is a must.
Venezia- Maurissa's Absolute Favorite. Her advise; turn off you phone just wonder the streets and get lost, have a coffee at a cafe, eat a panino from a walk up eatery, and have an a fun cocktail at a bar in a piazza as you watch the children and parents gather after a day at school and work. When you are ready to return to you hotel turn on your google maps to guide you back to your hotel to freshen up for dinner.
Toscana (region)- Just gorgeous. If you don't want any city life this is the place to be. Rent a convertible Fiat or Alfa Romeo and drive through the winding roads of Tuscany. You will find wineries almost everywhere with breath taking views of the country side at each turn. There are so many small towns to explore your options are endless.
Firenze- If big cities are not your thing Florence might be a great option as it has more of a small town vibe. We would recommend no more than two nights here.
Cinque Terra- Northwestern coastline of Italy. A bit more played back in comparison to the Amalfi coast. It includes five different seaside villages with great hiking.
Sicily- We have never been, but it is on our bucket list. Everyone we talk to says it has a completely different vibe than the rest of the Italian regions, but you will need at least 4/5 nights to truly feel like you get a good grasp of what this region has to offer.
