Our Wedding

I was a travel nurse living in Reno, NV for an assignment at the time. Comstock Windmill Festival was happening, so I of course flew back to Nebraska for that. My sister, Abby, and I were planning on going to the windmill festival and having the best time. We were having a much needed sister weekend. Max was a small town, country boy, living in St. Libory, NE farming away. It had rained, so he was able to have a weekend away from the farm and made his way to Comstock Windmill Festival with his friends. It was Friday, June 10, 2022... I needed to use the restroom, so I went to the port-a-potty. I walked out of the port-a-potty and I saw a group of guys at the end of the line of port-a-potties and saw them shaking the last stall. Being the concerned citizen that I am, I yelled at the guys and said "Hey! What do you guys think you're doing?" The guys walked over to me and said, "Hey! What's your name?" Still concerned about the port-a-potty potentially being knocked over, I responded with, "that doesn't matter!" They proceeded to ask, "Are you single?"You can about imagine how I'm feeling at this point... I responded with, "Well that's irrelevant!" As they were asking me these questions, I began telling them that they shouldn't be shaking the port-a-potties and what if there was someone in there? Low and behold, the love of my life (I didn't know it at the time) came stumbling out of the stall and walked his way over. I said, "OH MY GOSH, YOUR FRIEND WAS IN THERE?" The guys responded with, "Yeah! This is Max and he's single!"I said, "Good for Max!" They wouldn't let me change the subject and proceeded to tell me Max was single multiple times after that. I finally responded with, 'Well, he is the cutest of you all!" Max proceeded to grab my arm with a big smile on his face and said, "Let's go get a drink!" Those of you that know Max can believe me when I say this, but I don't think he said another word the rest of the night. Just smiled and drank his beer. ....and after that, the rest is history :)

Abby, aka Barb, is my sister that is 2 years older than me. She is my best friend. We always joke that we were meant to be twins, but we knew mom wouldn't be able to handle it, so she left me in the womb for 2 extra years. Regardless, we still found a way to be connected at the hip for most of our lives. Abby currently lives in Ord and is a teacher at Ord Elementary. She is also a new mom to sweet Finlee. 

Life without Barb would be impossible! She's been here for me through every stage of life and has been my rock through it all.

Lauren, aka Loretta, is my oldest sister. She's the oldest lady of the group! ;) BUT, she is also my best friend. She is so supportive and always knows the right things to say. Lauren lives in Lincoln and is a PA at Nebraska Heart Hospital. She has a beautiful family! A little fun fact about Lauren--she seems sweet and shy, but give her a bottle of wine and she will turn into a little party animal. That's the easiest way to get her out of her comfort zone. I would be so lost without my sisters.

Maddie is my go-to girl! I would be lost without this human. The best Patrick (from Spongebob) impersonator.
I met Maddie in Nursing School. I randomly asked her to study with me one day, and she hasn't been able to get rid of me since. We both became Nurses and always had dreams of traveling one day. Three years later, Maddie and I were both travel nurses. We ended up in the same state for two of our contracts. It was SO much fun! We have been with each other through the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. I love this girl. Maddie is still a travel nurse and is currently on assignment here in Nebraska. I want to keep her here forever!

Madi is my friend from back in the day when I worked at Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln. Madi was a new grad hired to work as a Nurse at NHH and I was forced against my will to train her. After I got done training her for 8 weeks, she continued to follow me around so I had to accept that and we've been friends ever since ;) But really, Madi was and has remained a great friend. She is never hesitant to join me whether that be a trip to Deadwood, going to Burwell Rodeo, or even a quick trip to AZ. I can always count on her. Madi is still living in Lincoln and working at Nebraska Heart Hospital. Maybe one day I can get her to follow me here! ;)

Jaidin became a great friend when Barb and I lived in Lincoln. Barb taught with her, so naturally, if Barb is friends with someone, they're forced to be my friend too! Jaidin is literally one of the most down to earth, hilarious, and beautiful humans you will ever meet. I am so lucky to have her in my life. I can always count on her to make me laugh.

Courtney, aka CoCo, is my favorite sister-in-law! Shh..don't tell Tessa! ;) Coco is another best friend! I can always count on Coco for wanting to do something or wanting to go somewhere. She is married to my brother Ben and they have two beautiful girls. We are so lucky to have her apart of our family. If you know Coco, you know she is one of the nicest, sweetest, best humans you'll ever meet.

Tessa is my favorite sister-in-law! Shh..don't tell Coco! ;) But seriously, I won the jackpot with sister-in-laws that have turned into best friends! Tessa is married to my brother, Grant, and they have the cutest ONE year old son! Tessa is a lot like how I described Lauren...sweet and shy, but give her some liquid encouragement and she too, turns into the life of the party!

Genevieve is originally from Boston, MA and has the cutest Boston accent! She is my lifesaver. We met in Reno, NV on a travel nursing assignment. To be honest, the floor we worked on was not great, so we like to say that we were trauma bonded. To this date, I am so thankful for that assignment because it brought me one of my favorite people. Then, UNKNOWINGLY, we ended up in AZ together with the same assignment, same hospital, same shift. God knew I needed her! We became roommates and became better friends that ended up being like two sisters that liked to bicker at each other. She is still living in AZ and continues to work as a travel nurse.

Kait is my best friend from high school. Her and I could tell you stories for hours about all of the fun things we've done. Every tall girl has a short best friend, and that's my Kait. Kait is married and a mom of two beautiful boys, with another baby on the way. She lives in Minden and works as a Nurse Practitioner. If I ever need a good laugh or a flash back to the good ole days, I can count on Kait.
