Way back in the summer of 2017, when high-rise jeans were cool, the iPhone X was the newest technology, and “Despacito” was playing on the radio… two high school kids crossed paths. What appeared to be a classically innocent merge of two friend groups later turned out to be a ploy to get Max out of the house and to inspire him to embrace life and summer fun with friends… and more than friends. Max and Jo were introduced in Emeline’s iconic basement on Kings Road in Yardley-shortly after Jo had been completely focused in an overly competitive match of ping-pong. As soon as Max descended the carpet stairs, Jo’s bright smile and super fashionable Pennsbury soccer outfit caught his eye and changed his entire worldview. Upon being introduced, Max and Jo skipped the awkward introductory phase and went straight to “WAAAZZZZ UHHHHPPP” followed by excessive goofiness and giggles. After a night of smuggling household items into the freezer and destroying everyone as a team in foosball, Max and Jo realized they had a special Mojo. Mojo, which instantly evolved to MaJo, has forever stuck as a team name and anthem of the duo. After that first night, Max, Jo and the group hung out every single day and enjoyed a quintessential summer of late night Wawa runs, beach trips, and shenanigans. Max knew what had to be done, so he handled business, and garnered up the courage and charisma to strike while the iron was hot. Two weeks after they met, Max asked Jo to be his girlfriend and the two of them became inseparable. The whirlwind of first love swept both of them off of their feet and captivated all of their time, all of their thoughts, and all of their attention… to the concern of all of the reasonable adults around them. They fell in love off of a cliff without a parachute and simultaneously knew how insane it sounded. But when you know, you know. Max and Jo knew one month in that they were planning the rest of their adventures as a duo, and unstoppable unit bound by love, trust and friendship on a never-ending journey through life. Max and Jo may have fallen hard, yet they also worked to intentionally craft a foundation for relationship that was always designed to protect one another in honor, to guide one another in faith, and to ultimately build a partnership fierce enough to hurdle life‘s obstacles. Over the past 8 years, MaJo has traveled across the world, graduated college, established fulfilling careers, and shared a ton of joy with friends and family along the way. They have found sweetness in the little moments, playing board games, drinking coffee on the deck, and learning how to be adults. Life’s storms have certainly come and done their worst, as the duo learned how to support one another through injuries, tough transitions, and the passing of Max’s beloved mother Patty <3. Max and Jo have worked together to find beauty within the pain, and to grow through the peaks and valleys that accompany each new season of life. Through all of it, they have only drawn closer and fallen more in love with each version of each other becoming a confident, fun-loving, and intentional dynamic duo. In August of 2025, Max asked Jo to be his wife, seizing the moment on a balcony in Naxos, Greece. (She said yes).
 Now, it is time to celebrate all of the love that has carried Max and Jo here to this new era of engagement!!!! Max and Jo are ecstatic and ready to strive into marriage and become the ONE AND ONLY Mr. and Mrs. Crawn. As husband and wife, Max and Jo will continue their journey as their own little family within one HUGE family of Crawns, Tennants, Nungessers, Friels and Mulock-Bentleys. Max & Jo’s wedding will be an intimate and purposeful celebration of love that reflects all of the memories and principles that the couple cherish in their relationship. They will be honored to officially tie the knot in the presence of their closest family, friends and to make a lifelong dedication to one another under God and law and in front of the world.
