In the third week of the class "American Heritage" at BYU, in an auditorium of 600 students, Bella asked to sit next to Max. He said yes, of course. And the rest is history.
The next day, Max asked Bella out. After picking her up at her apartment, we stopped at Walmart to get snacks, we then went to a park where we set up blankets in the grass and watched the movie “Hacksaw Ridge.” We will never forget the 21st night of September… our first date ;)
After a date night, Max walked Bella to her apartment door, before going in Bella said “I love you.” Max froze and hugged her, still not saying anything, Bella then opened her door and went inside. Before the door could shut Max said “I love you too.” Bella responded “no you don’t. You just said it because I said it.” then the door shut. Now we know he meant it…
When Bella visited Canada this summer, Max said he was taking her out for a nice dinner so she needed to dress up. After getting the restaurant, Bella got upset at Max because the restaurant was not fancy enough to wear a dress. While at the restaurant Max’s family went to the proposal spot to set up the scene. We stopped for ice cream to stall while they set up, and then went to the lake they were waiting at. Bella really wanted to see a Moose while she was in Canada, and Max said this was the best spot to see one. We walked around the lake until we got to the scene that was set up, and Bella said “No you’re not. No you’re not. No you’re not!” Safe to say she saw the set up. Max then kneeled and asked if she would marry him… she of course, said yes.
