Micah Abe was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. When attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he got involved with the BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry) there.

Maya Bickham was born and raised in the Mesa/Chandler area of Arizona. For college, she decided to attend Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. During college, she became involved in Christian Challenge.

After both graduating in 2021, both Micah and Maya continued to be involved with these ministries; Micah as a volunteer BCM staff and Maya as full-time Christian Challenge Staff.

In summer of 2022, a group of staff and students from BCM Oahu decided to come on a mission trip to Flagstaff, AZ to work with their long-time ministry partners at NAU Christian Challenge. This is where the happy couple first met.

Shortly after they met, Micah asked Maya on a facetime date and thus begun their love story. The first six months of dating was long-distance between Arizona and Hawaii, along with a 3-hour time difference. In January 2023, Micah was accepted into Creighton University in Phoenix, AZ for graduate school for Physical Therapy. After 5 more months of long distance, in June 2023, Micah moved to Arizona.

The next six months the couple was able to enjoy quality time together and Micah got to know Maya's Arizona family and friends. January 2nd, 2024, Micah proposed to Maya and she said yes!
