Our Story, as written by Carson.

Our story began in the fall of 2019 at the University of Tulsa. Back then, Maya and I would cross paths here and there, mostly through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2023 that everything changed. I had planned a visit back to Tulsa, and during that trip, I asked Maya out on a date. I was already living in Dallas, having just started my career in finance, and she was finishing up her degree to become an elementary educator. That first date sparked something special between us, and I knew it was just the beginning.

What followed were countless flights and road trips between Dallas and Tulsa. I found myself heading back up to see her as often as I could, and with every visit, our connection deepened. It wasn’t always easy- balancing my new career with Maya’s busy schedule as she finished school and began teaching 3rd grade - but we made it work. The sacrifices we both made only strengthened our relationship. The miles and late-night conversations were a small price to pay for what we were building together.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that Maya was the one I wanted to spend my life with. The more time we spent together, the more certain I became that God had brought us together at the perfect time, when we were both ready for each other. As we look forward to our wedding in March of 2025, I’m beyond excited to start this next chapter with her, knowing that everything we’ve gone through has only made our bond stronger. We’re truly blessed, and I can’t wait to spend forever with her.
