Our Wedding

McKee and Lindsey’s love story started in what many can agree is one of Illinois’ most romantic locations – a sorority sister’s apartment on the campus of Augustana College in the Spring of 2016. That evening, their first impressions of each other were formed over Benny’s asparagus pizza and Coors Light (though Lindsey did admit later that night he’d much prefer a chocolate milk). McKee, from Bloomington, IL was a junior at Augustana University studying Art and Psychology and Lindsey was a Quad Cities native(aka “townie”). Over the next few months, McKee and Lindsey created a foundation of friendship, spending a lot of their time riding the city bus to downtown Rock Island and bar hopping in the District. Ending the night by getting a combo from goon man for the ride home.   By the new year, it was clear they both had deeper feelings for the other. The two made it official in February of 2017 with a first date at McKee’s house, which included the cult classic The Bee Movie and, of course, pizza. From then on, time together was spent exploring new activities and sharing personal interests. These activities included testing new recipes, enjoying one of McKee’s favorite hobbies, painting, going to local concert venues to check out new bands (and getting their Uber driver to make a pit stop at Taco Bell on the way home), sneaking Lindsey into sorority parties and sharing their respective hair care routines. Lindsey still had hair past his shoulders and McKee remembers he was the first guy to tell her how much he liked her curly hair and freckles!    In August of 2017, they moved into Grandma Micki and Grandpa Jim’s river house along with the (oh so romantic) addition of Lindsey’s brother Gareth as a roommate! Over the course of the next seven years, McKee and Lindsey would go on to accomplish major milestones together. McKee graduated with her Masters in Social Work from the University of Iowa and Lindsey completed his Machinist Apprenticeship at The Rock Island Arsenal. They also purchased their first home together in Moline and welcomed their pride and joy, goldendoodle Geno Pancake Sutter-Jackson. Perhaps most significant though were all the days in between these accomplishments; simple days spent cooking, watching the Seattle Seahawks, playing volleyball, bingeing cooking shows, hosting beerlympics, and creating their own traditions all while their relationship grew and strengthened. McKee learned to support Lindsey’s love for playing golf, softball and discgolf. While Lindsey succumbed to McKee’s obsession with reality tv, crafts and collection of knicknacks around the house. Over time, their kitchen turned into a place where they showed off their cooking skills, working together smoothly. Lindsey, who's become really good at smoking meats, and McKee would make the tasty sides and desserts.   Then on an early fall day in September of 2024, Lindsey got down on one knee and asked McKee if she was interested in spending those days together forever, to which she gave a resounding Yes! McKee and Lindsey are so excited to celebrate their love with the family and friends they all consider to be their own and who have supported and loved them throughout this relationship. Can’t wait to see you in November!
