Our story began on a chilly December evening in 2017, set up by McKenna’s close friend, Sequoia Johnson (Sillivan). Little did we know, this seemingly ordinary living room movie date would turn into a beautiful love story.

The initial months of our relationship were filled with many typical youthful adventures, from cheering each other on at high school sporting events to bouncing between Arcadia and Burwell, going to Calamus, and waiting to meet each other halfway in Ord. These experiences encompassed most of our years together as high school sweethearts.

Our relationship blossomed as we embarked on a new chapter together, enrolling at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Amidst the hustle and bustle of college life, our bond grew stronger as we navigated the challenges and joys of college life.

On August 13th, 2023, at Bok Tower in Florida, Baden knelt down and proposed to McKenna. With an initial look of confusion, followed by shock, then joy, McKenna screamed a resounding "Yes!!!!" and proceeded to say yes 23 more times. Baden planned the most wonderful proposal. He had everything planned perfectly and made sure the special moment was captured by a professional photographer going incognito by the tower. He had even made sure McKenna had her nails, make-up, and hair done for the occasion. I think it is safe to say that this was one of the most special days of both of their lives.

We are both very excited to unveil this new chapter, as our love continues to flourish and grow. We will be moving to Arizona where Baden will pursue his doctorate in Clinical Psychology and McKenna will be a high school biology teacher.
