It all started the way most great modern love stories do... with a follow on Instagram. McKenna and David quickly hit it off. After a few dates, though, life had other plans. Simply put, the timing wasn’t quite right, and they decided to go their separate ways—but not for long. What followed was a year of unexpected friendship. They shared life in community, spent time planning mission trips, ran a half marathon together (yes, voluntarily!), and walked through joys and challenges side by side. Their bond grew deep, steady, and meaningful—rooted in faith, laughter, and mutual respect. Then one summer night on a boat, everything changed — McKenna’s feelings for David shifted, and as they continued to build over the next&nbsp;month, it was time to speak up.&nbsp; McKenna offered to pick David up from the airport upon his return to Austin from a business trip. When they arrived at David’s house, it was time to drop the question. She asked him if he’d be open to trying things again romantically. David, being David, said he wanted to pray about it.&nbsp; Less than 24 hours later, McKenna received a call from him with a surprise: two tickets to a Tyler Hubbard concert.&nbsp;That night became their second “first date”—and the beginning of something truly special. After&nbsp;a&nbsp;night under the concert lights, David told McKenna he was in for their second and final try.&nbsp; Two weeks later, they were officially dating. In another two months, they said “I love you.” And three months after that, David got down on one knee and asked McKenna to be his wife. The rest? That’s history in the making.
