When I first met Phillip in middle school, he told me with complete certainty, "We're going to end up dating." I just shrugged it off, thinking it was a random comment from someone I barely knew. Fast forward a few years, and when I was a freshman in high school and he was a junior, we started dating. It lasted about two years, but like a lot of teenage relationships, it was on and off.

As we both went through high school, college, and all the changes that come with growing up, we always seemed to find our way back to each other. Our friends all saw it coming—they were convinced we'd end up together, even when we didn’t always see it ourselves. And now, after all these years, after all the twists and turns, here we are, our paths crossing again in a way that feels exactly right. It’s funny how life works out. I guess maybe Phillip knew something I didn’t back then.
