Brennen and McKenna met on Twitter in October 2013 when she was 15 and he was 16. They both knew who each other were since they went to the same high school, but they hadn't officially met in person. Over the next few months they spent a lot of time texting each other and talking at school. On Super bowl Sunday, 2014, Brennen invited McKenna over to his house for the first time. McKenna was very nervous because not only were Brennen's parents and siblings there, but the neighbors and other relatives. McKenna remembers that they had pizza for dinner that night. She remembers this because after a few hours of being there she went to the bathroom where she discovered FOOD in her FRONT teeth! Brennen couldn't have been too jarred.

Brennen asked McKenna to be his girlfriend on March 5, 2014. They were in his room and he had changed his phone password to the days date 3514. McKenna typed in 3514 and it didn't work which was very confusing to her since he JUST told her it was today's date. Brennen then realized he accidentally made the password 5314. McKenna laughed and asked him why he even did that in the first place. That was when Brennen asked McKenna to be his girlfriend. She responded with "I guess" and then Brennen farted on her and said "better get used to it". Ever since then, they have been inseparable.

Brennen and McKenna were always together. In the summer of 2014 McKenna started her first job at The Original Dairy Dan and sometimes Brennen would drop her off since she didn't have her license yet. Brennen also picked her up for school every day even though he had to drive past the school to get her AND she could see the school from her backyard. McKenna remembers when she realized Brennen really did love her. One day in high school McKenna really wanted McDonalds for lunch. So, Brennen drove McKenna to McDonalds during school lunch, bought her food, and then when they returned to school they got caught and he took the blame. Brennen had to do two after school detentions due to this. A man that would risk it all for McDonalds was a man for McKenna.

They spent pretty much every waking moment together when they could. They went on many dates including mini golf, bowling, movies, going to Sonic, and LOTS of fishing! Since they grew up together, they have spent a lot of firsts together; McKenna learned how to drive, they both started their first jobs, McKenna went on a plane and to Florida for the first time, they went to Faster Horses, which was Brennen's first concert. McKenna watched Brennen graduate high school and go off to Central Michigan University.

Once McKenna graduated in 2016, life flew by. They have both graduated college with Bachelor's Degrees, Brennen with his Bachelor's in Science and McKenna in Social Work, went through a pandemic, rescued a dog (Peeve) and cat (Jonas), moved in together (in the house where Brennen asked McKenna to be his girlfriend. talk about a full circle moment.), and now they’re getting MARRIED.

They both are each other's best friend and love spending time with one another. They are truly two peas in a pod.
