Benton and McKenna first met at the 2023 Yess Country Dance Convention in Phoenix, Arizona where McKenna was living at the time and Benton had traveled from Dallas, Texas. Despite the distance, they kept in touch after the convention, and a few months later, McKenna landed a job in Dallas.

Once she made the move, their connection grew stronger, and they began dating.

Both share a deep passion for the Lord, which was the foundation of their bond, along with many common interest. They both had started country dancing before meeting, and their mutual love for dance led them to step outside their comfort zones. They decided to learn a new style together-West Coast Swing- and quickly fell in love with it.

But dancing isn’t the only thing they enjoy doing together. Their shared love for outdoor activities like hunting, hiking, traveling, and sports has brought them even closer. Both were collegiate athletes, and their active lifestyles continue to shape their relationship.

On September 7th, Benton proposed to McKenna at the stunning Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With this beautiful moment, they knew their story was just beginning.
