Our Wedding

Our lives first intersected in 2019 while working the same summer job at a local gym in Colorado. McKenna had recently graduated from the University of Colorado and was saving up for a backpacking trip through Europe, while Nick was in the midst of applying to flight schools after also graduating from the University of Colorado a year prior (sko buffs!). We quickly hit it off. Those few months were spent doing our favorite things – going to Red Rocks concerts, attending football games, or grabbing beers from one of the many Denver breweries.&nbsp; However, just as our relationship was beginning to grow, life took us both in different directions. Nick moved to Florida to begin a rigorous year-long pilot training program. McKenna ventured off on the six-week European adventure she had always dreamed of, returning to Colorado afterward to begin working in the medical field. Despite the distance, our relationship remained steadfast. We dated long-distance for a year and a half before finally moving in together. Life has been an adventure ever since! Nick’s career transitioned from flying small Cessna’s to flying seaplanes, which has taken us across the country – from South Florida to New York City to Alaska, and most recently Australia. When not traveling for work, we continue seeking out adventures near and far. Some highlights include sailing in Mexico, hiking in Switzerland, and eating more souvlaki than should be humanly possible in Greece.

In January 2025, on a secluded beach in St. Thomas, Nick proposed. His parents had joined us for the trip and were taking photos of us at a picturesque spot beneath a palm tree. Nick pretended to spot a speeding boat across the channel, and when McKenna (gullible as she is) turned to look, he got down on one knee. The proposal couldn’t have been more perfect, and the day carried on in celebration with piña coladas on the beach. For those wondering – neither Nick’s parents nor McKenna had the faintest idea he was going to pop the question. He had purchased the ring three months prior and, for the sake of keeping this secret, endured months of both families relentlessly teasing him about when he was finally going to propose!

We’re so excited to start this next chapter surrounded by the people we love most, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you in paradise!

Getting there: Guests will fly into the Kahului Airport (OGG). We recommend using a flight tracker (Hopper or Google Flights) to track when airline ticket prices are best.&nbsp; Most guests will be staying in Kāʻanapali which is about a 45 minute drive from the Kahului Airport. Renting a car is by no means necessary, however it is recommended if you want to see more of what the island has to offer. See our “Things to do” page for the couples suggestions! Otherwise Uber and Lyft are available on the island.&nbsp; We have a hotel block at The Westin. Please book before April 24, 2026 using this <a href="https://book.passkey.com/go/WilliamsonAmeyWedding" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">link</a>. Other nearby hotels to look at: Hyatt Regency, Sheraton, Royal Lahaina, Outrigger, and Aston Kaanapali Shores.There are also plenty of Air B&amp;Bs, VRBOs, and villas in the area which are great options for groups.

Surf lessons at The Cove in Kihei, S-Turns, or Kāʻanapali Point Snorkeling and cliff diving at Black Rock Shopping at Whaler’s Village Old Lāhainā Lu’au: Experience a traditional lu’au with music, dancing, and food. A really unique, immersive way to learn about Hawaiian culture. Farther Excursions

Sunrise at Haleakalā: To catch a beautiful sunrise from the summit of the volcano, arrive at the Haleakalā park at least 90 minutes before sunrise. <a href="https://www.nps.gov/hale/planyourvisit/sunrise.htm" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Reservations</a> are required.&nbsp; Road to Hana: An iconic 64-mile drive through the rainforest and coast of Maui. Legendary waterfalls, beaches, and hiking (we recommend the Bamboo Forest Hike). Be advised: one-lane roads, narrow bridges, and hair-pin turns…be cautious while driving!

<a href="https://www.dukesmaui.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Duke’s</a> - Duke’s is located on the beach with breathtaking views of the Pacific ocean and neighboring islands Molokai and Lanai. This is a more upscale restaurant good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Definitely try their POG juice mimosas with your breakfast and the seafood risotto for dinner.&nbsp; Honoapiilani Food Truck Park - This casual outdoor food truck park has a large variety of foods. From Thai, to BBQ, to local Hawaiian dishes, there is something for everyone! <a href="https://www.hulagrillkaanapali.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hula Grill</a> - Hula Grill is conveniently right on the beach just outside of Whaler’s Village, offering live music and fantastic views of the Pacific ocean. They have some amazing raw bar items and other grill classics, making it a great option for lunch or dinner.&nbsp; <a href="https://www.leilanis.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Leilani’s On The Beach</a> - Also located on Ka’anapali Beach, this restaurant is perfect for a nice dinner while watching the sun set over the ocean. They have tons of great pūpūs (appetizers) and tropical cocktails.&nbsp; <a href="https://paiafishmarket.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Paia Fish Market</a> - This casual lunch spot is known for their amazing local fish. The fresh catch plate offers many types of fish prepared in different styles; you get to customize your order.&nbsp; <a href="https://www.monkeypodkitchen.com/dine_ka_anapali" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Monkeypod</a> - With a lively atmosphere and live music, this restaurant is ideal for lunch or dinner. They have a wide variety of food including some fantastic pizzas if you want a break from seafood. Monkeypod has some of the best mai tais on the island with a honey-lilikoi foam.&nbsp; <a href="https://kiheicaffe.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Kihei Caffe</a> - This is our favorite breakfast cafe with affordable prices and a relaxed atmosphere. Kihei Caffe is quick and easy, with both classic and Hawaiian breakfast dishes. We like the loco moco and the ube latte!

We invite guests to wear breezy tropical attire in fun colors and prints.
