We first met through our local livestock fair. Samuel showed cattle and swine, and McKenzie was more into the lambs and goats. Over time, McKenzie wanted to learn more about cattle and that's when she bought her first steer from Samuel and his family. After purchasing her steer, they both grew closer over the next year attending shows and events. They started dating in the winter of 2019. Most dates consisted of traveling and time spent in the barn; the two things they enjoy doing. After almost 3 years of dating, Samuel asked Mckenzie to marry him on December 3, 2022. The engagement took place at the most fitting place for their interests, at the farm among the cows.
