Our Wedding

After leaving PEI, trying to make his way back to Alberta, Matt made a pit stop in Woodstock Ontario for work. While living in St Thomas with her sister, niece, and newborn nephew, Meagan was working on her Master Degree. Both happened to be on the same dating app and both swiped RIGHT! Meagan was admittedly giving up on online dating like she had many times in the past . Matthew sent a simple hello and Meagan decided to respond to just one more. After some general questions about pineapples on pizza and womb gremlins, it became clear that they were meant to be. (Although Matt regrets not asking if she likes peanut butter and nutella sandwiches. He really hates that). Matt moved in a few months later. Visiting random little museums, managing to introduce their dogs, and taking on meeting Meagan's parents were all a part of the deal. And their love continued to flourish. By December 2021, Matt took Meagan home to Alberta to meet his parents and brother. On December 18, 2021, Matt took Meagan to Waterton National Park to see a beautiful waterfall. Now Matt will tell you that it was awful because it was frozen and despite the weather being nice everywhere else in Alberta, Waterton had major snow. However, if you ask Meagan, it was a beautiful frozen waterfall and winter wonderland. Regardless, after taking some moments to view the waterfall, Matt got down on one knee and asked Meagan marry him. Of course she said YES. Then, 3 weeks later, they discovered they were pregnant! This put wedding plans on hold for a while as they welcomed their beautiful son, Simon Mitchell Cochrane. In March 2023, they made the big move out to Alberta to become farmers! Now that they are settled, wedding plans are moving forward!

Our Story

There are several options for accomodations. 
 
Cedar Villa Motel - Foremost Alberta
This is a motel directly in the village of Foremost. It will be the closest option for accomodations. 
 
Sandstone Motel - Milk River Alberta
This is an hour from Foremost and a little bit out of the way but is in a really cute town! It is an hour to Lethbridge. 
 
Bow Island Lodge -Bow Island Alberta
This is about a half hour away from Foremost and half way between Lethbridge and Medicine Hat on Highway 3. Easy access to both locations! 
 
 
Lethbridge and Medicine Hat both have a variety of motels and hotels and are bigger cities if you prefer more creature comforts. Both are about 3 hours from Calgary for those flying in! For those driving, Medicine Hat is closest for those driving.

Travel

This is a really cool national park that is about a 20 minute drive. You can go hiking, or take a lovely tube ride down the milk river. There are entrance points that let you tube for 3 hours or 1.5 hours.
