Meet The Girls

Everyone meet my best friend, Karla! I met Karla freshman year of college. I would say it was love at first sight, but she’d argue and say it was love at first laugh. Yes, laugh. Karla told me “I knew right when I heard you laugh for the first time, we’d become best friends”. Well, here we are! In all seriousness though, Karla is more than a best friend to me, she’s family. I’m so lucky and honored to have such a caring, passionate, and hilarious friend like her. She has seen Brendyn and I through every season of life: college, long distance, breaking up, getting back together, moving in together, engaged, now getting married. To say we’ve been waiting for this moment, is an understatement. Anyways, cheers to my beautiful maid of honor! Everyone needs a Karla in their life!

Karla

Meet Natalie, one of my beautiful bridesmaids! Natalie went to college with Brendyn and became close friends with him through their music program. Through Brendyn, we became friends. After college graduation, we both found ourselves living and teaching in Big Spring, where we became even closer. That was such an odd, fun, terrible, great time in our lives (iykyk) but I wouldn’t have traded it for the world because I got one of the best friendships out of it. I’m so honored to have her with me on this day and everyday!

Natalie 

Meet the beautiful Haley! We met in Houston where we both taught 1st grade together for 2 years. We were coteachers, in the trenches of north Houston, doing what we could to survive. During that time, I found a great friend, a book club buddy, and the pal that would end up helping Brendyn plan the whole proposal. So really, we’re all here because of her! I’m so excited to have her be by my side in this next chapter of life. 

Haley

Michelle and I met in Houston while teaching third grade together, and we instantly clicked. Between playing volleyball together, karaoke nights, and surviving the chaos of the classroom side by side, we’ve built so many great memories. She’s the life of the party— if you’re looking for her at the wedding, she will be on the dance floor all night. She’s the perfect addition to our wedding party and I’m so lucky to have her!

This is my gorgeous cousin, Christian. I’m so excited to have Christian as one of my bridesmaids! Back in 2018, I was one of her bridesmaids and now she (finally) gets to be by my side! Christian is the biggest hype woman, has the kindest heart, and will bring such great vibes to our wedding party!

Meet my beautiful cousin from Minnesota, Blair! Growing up, she was the older cousin I thought was the absolute coolest—I totally looked up to her. One of my favorite memories is sitting in her old room while she burned a CD for me, making me feel like I’d just been handed the best gift ever. I was one of her bridesmaids 11 years ago and now she’s going to be one of mine, making this moment very special and full circle for me. I’m so excited she’ll be here to celebrate with us!

Blair

Meet Hunter, my future sister-in-law and one of my bridesmaids! She might put on a tough front, but anyone who knows her knows she’s actually a softy with a really sweet heart (she might kill me for saying that but hey, it’s my wedding!). I’m so glad she’s part of our wedding crew—and our family!

Hunter

Raelyn is my cousin from Minnesota and full of personality! The second we announced our engagement, she didn’t miss a beat before blurting out, “Can I be a junior bridesmaid?”—and here she is, living out that dream! She’s quick-witted, hilarious, and famous in our family for her epic roasting battles with Brendyn. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the big day!

Raelyn

Meet my cousin Willow! She is my cousin from Minnesota and I’m so excited to have her as a junior bridesmaid. She’s funny, outgoing, and beautiful—always bringing great energy wherever she goes. She loves horseback riding, making inappropriate jokes, and one of my favorite memories with her is helping her catch her very first fish at our grandparents’ cabin. I’m so excited to have her by my side!

Meet my beautiful friend, Lauryn! I met Lauryn my freshman year of college at ACU. From that point on, I knew I’d have a friend for life. We shared some of the best memories over those years that I will cherish forever. I knew when planning my wedding party that Lauryn would make the most perfect personal attendant. Her organizational mind, type a personality, attention to detail, and her creativity would make her the best girl to help me through the day!

Meet The Guys

The year was 2007, our 7th grade year, I met Justin—though I didn’t know then he’d become my lifelong ride or die. From Red Oak’s first-ever show choir to winning our first sweepstakes trophy, we’ve shared countless memories, including me showing up to his college performance in a homemade “Justin’s best friend” shirt. Justin has a heart of gold and has stood by me through every high and low, no matter the distance or time. We’ve always been a strong duo, but we deeply miss our third—Dajuan Ward—who passed just before graduation in 2013. I know he’d be here today, proud and cheering us on as Meagan and I step into this next chapter.

Since peewee football, Quinton has been here by my side. As the self proclaimed worst communicator in the world, I can say that Quinton has always been there when I hit him up for anything, at any time. A month, a year, shoot, maybe even two, no matter the amount of time that has past, Quinton has always had time for me, and I am beyond greatful for his friendship.

My dawg Zac! Isn't it weird seeing your cousins also growing up like you? I look at him like "Weren't you just in high school," as if we aren't dang near the same age. Zac has always been one of my closest family members. From going to cousin birthdays, having each other's names for Christmas, a billion holidays together, a couple football camps, and now walking through our adult lives! What I love about Zac is that he is going to let you know that you're important to him. I can't wait until we can reminisce about our funny family stories when we're both old men in rocking chairs.

The first time I met Dairon I was in the lobby of out dorm at HPU. At the time, I only really knew 1 person on campus. He and a couple more people were down there standing around playing pool. In an effort to make connections, I stood up from my chair, walked over to the group and asked a simple question... "Y'all trying to play Madden?" 😂
From there, I think my Madden record against Dairon might be 107-1, and I'm not on the winning side, and if you asked him, he would say my single win doesn't even count!
This dude is my guy! At my lowest point in college, Dairon was the person I called.
A lot of my groomsmen are my main click from college, and I guarantee I wouldn't have made it out of Brownwood with a degree without their help!

If you get a chance, ask Dairon about us driving back to Dallas together from Brownwood. There was always something crazy happening!

Another HPU goon. Gabe has to be 100% the chillest guy that I know, and that's coming from me, so that's saying something! I mean, how can you not be when you're the last guy on the planet that regularly wears jean shorts?
One time, Thomas, Dairon, and our other friend Porche were on the way to my old PT Cruiser to drive all the way to Wichita Falls to watch my sister play Volleyball. On the way out the door, we say Gabe and asked if he wanted to go. Long story short, on the way back, in the middle of nowhere, my car blew a tire and we got stuck for like 2 hours until a friend could come get us. Now we all blame Gabe since he was the last in the car! 😂
Jokes aside, Gabe is a real one. From holding down the dorm being an RA at HPU, or always having your back, when he's got you, he really does got you. He's one anyone can count on.

My dude Kendrick. Kendrick is Dairons older brother and was basically thrown into the friend group from being guilty by association to Dairon. He's the Unk of the group, but is the first to throw out a joke if you say or do something that's a little off. All out of love, Kendrick is always down for a laugh with or at you, ready to make a move on some shoes, or will spit a piece of truthful advice at you even when you don't feel like you don't need it and make you think, "Dang. You right though."

2020 freeze, just before covid. Meagan decided to have her birthday shenanigans in Abilene so we can go hang out with her bestie Karla. Karla had a friend that was staying with her at the time, and this is where we insert Manny. We were stuck in Karlas apartment for 3 days! 2 of those without water or electricity! Then our neighbors back in Big Spring told us our water and eletric was back on, so then we all drove back to our house, where we were stuck for another 2 days! Honestly, that week was probably what made us friends this long because we got to know each other really well!
The fact that Manny was only hoping for a invite and not a groomsmen position, tells you he underestimates the effect of his friendship. He is one of those people that you don't have to know long to see how genuine of a person he really is. Manny is a guy, even a couple 1000 miles away, I could call to hang out, and he would (and has) jump in a plane to come to Texas just to hang out with Meagan and I. When you're one of his people, he's got you for life.

Emmanuel

Unlike most people's college experience, I didn't get the freshman introduction week. I showed up to HPU on the first day of classes, finished my paperwork, applied for Fafsa, and moved into my room. They give me a number of the guy who would be my roommate and I said something like "Hey man. You weren't planning on having a roommate, but I'm here now!" Up comes Patrick. The first guy I met in college. My HPU day 1! If you ask him, I'm the best roommate anyone could of had in college. Patrick and I had some great times that first year. Between grocery store runs and shenanigans in the lobby, Patrick was my go to guy for a long time.

The youngest of the bunch. Idk if I'm saying this right, but Cam has got so much rizz! For real, though, Cam is just a little extension to me. The closest I've ever had to a little brother, Cam really does bring laughs wherever he is at. Between the years of him living with my mom and taking him to daycare, and whipping him in any videogame imaginable, and now he is a FRESHMAN in high school! Something I don't say out loud is that I really hope I'm being a good example for him. There's not to many people I want to impress in life, but Camdyn is one that I hope I make proud for years to come.
