What good would a love story be for Dave Callahan if it didn't involve kickball? As commissioner of the Norfolk Kickball League, Dave's first love has always been kickball. Little did he know that his future wife would join the league and beat his team in the summer tournament. Meaghan let it slip to a mutual friend that she thought Dave was cute, and an introduction was planned. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you view fate), the introduction did not go as planned, and the pair continued on different paths.

Almost five years later, Meaghan and Dave reconnect at a mutual friend's housewarming party. The two found themselves talking all night long, and Dave even ditched his friends to walk Meaghan home. The pair didn't know it yet, but they would be inseparable from this moment on.

After a few dates, Meaghan and Dave go on their first outing as a couple with friends for St. Patrick's Day. As luck would have it, this would be the last time they would be "out" for over a year....

Once COVID hit, like the rest of the world, Meaghan and Dave had to completely change their lifestyles and improvise to see friends and each other. Dave never gave up on his courting of Meaghan, even when faced with the unknown of a pandemic. As Meaghan describes it, Dave had his very own John Cusack moment, minus the boombox. He would sit outside on the porch and talk through the window for hours, 6 feet apart, of course! Eventually, once the paranoia of COVID settled, he was allowed in the house once again.

Meaghan and Dave were blessed to be able to escape quarantine and enjoy some time at Lake Gaston with the Campbell family. Lake Gaston is a very special place to the Campbell family, and they have been thrilled to welcome Dave and his two sons into Lake Life.

Once the world opened back up, Meaghan finally gave into the fact that she's dating a sports fan and bought tickets to see Dave's beloved Red Sox play in Washington, DC, for his birthday. Dave's bother (Mike) and his best friend (Keenan) also joined and stayed at her brother Ian's house in Arlington, VA. This was the beginning of a beautiful blended family and friend group.

Dave surprises Meaghan with tickets to see her favorite band, The Head and the Heart (THATH), for her birthday at Red Rocks! THATH are a very special band to the couple, and they will even be dancing to one of their songs for their first dance.

The Proposal (pt1): No detail was left out when it came to the planning of the proposal. Dave planned (what Meaghan thought) a family day trip to the Children's Museum with his sons Jayden (14) and Kieran (4). They took the ferry from Waterside in Norfolk and decided to take a stroll around the water in Olde Towne Portsmouth.

The Proposal (pt2): After spotting the picnic basket set up and hearing her favorite song playing, Dave got down on one knee and asked Meaghan to marry him. After saying a loud "yes!" Meaghan realized that Dave's 14-year-old son, Jayden, had been filming the whole thing and taking pictures so he could help with the surprise. In addition to the kids, Meaghan was then surprised to see her brother (from out of town), sister, and brother-in-law running out and screaming their congratulations.

The Proposal (pt3): Meaghan was already on Cloud 9, having her two future stepsons and her siblings included in this special moment for her. But the surprises didn't stop there. They continued on to one of Meaghan's favorite restaurants, Fish n' Slips, where about 25 of their closest friends and family were waiting to celebrate and surprise the newly engaged couple. The love and support Meaghan and Dave feel from their family and friends is indescribable. To have everyone there to celebrate this happy day meant the world to them.
