Matthew and Meaghan will be spending a few days prior to the wedding in Meaghan's hometown of Portsmouth, NH, located about an hour away from Boston, MA and the wedding venue, Birch Hill Farms. Portsmouth is the quintessential New England town filled with a vibrant downtown, quaint shops, and a variety of dining and bar options. For those of you from the area, you know that summertime at "the decks" is a Portsmouth staple!

This will be an informal gathering among friends and family. Whether you're in the area, feel like coming up a couple days early, or are planning a summer vacation, we would love to see you in Portsmouth. Please keep in mind that this get-together will not be catered to by River House and we will not be providing support on any lodging or transportation. We'll simply be meeting up here before continuing on with a night on the town.

All guests are responsible for getting themselves to and from the church ceremony. After the ceremony, buses will be picking all guests up at The Hampton Inn or Lake Ochepee Inn and Spa. Buses will run from each location at 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Cocktail hour at Birch Hill Farms will begin at 4:00 PM. Please note, guests are NOT permitted to drive themselves to the venue. All those attending must travel on the bus. At the end of the night, the buses will be available to take guests back to their hotels upon request.


After the reception, all guests are welcome to gather at the Hampton Inn with the bride and groom. There is plenty of lobby space and, additionally, we have rented a room located off of the lobby in which to gather and play some games. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have an on-sight restaurant or bar so please keep in mind that if you're planning on a late night drink/cocktail to stock up your room refrigerators in advance.
