Alex & Meaghan's Story

Alex and Meaghan grew up 10 miles apart but didn’t meet until 2016 at a friend’s lake house. Meaghan’s friends, Lindsey and Paige, knew that the two of them were going to hit it off (and that certainly ended up being true!). They spent the summer as friends, getting to know one another at the lake. When summer and lake weekends came around the following year, it was clear that there was more than a friendship between the two of them.

After Meaghan moved to New York, the two kept in touch, and tried to make plans for Alex to come visit, although he got an incredible job opportunity to work as an engineer in Australia. They continued to stay in touch and even tried to plan a trip for Meaghan to visit Australia, but once again, Alex received a job opportunity that brought him back to Tennessee, closer to Meaghan. After a couple of failed attempted visits and years of not seeing each other, it seemed like Alex and Meaghan were just meant to be friends, but then Covid hit.

In March of 2020, Meaghan decided to come back to Georgia to wait out the Covid Pandemic. By May, she made the tough decision to move back to Georgia permanently and close the door to her New York chapter. In June of 2020, Alex and Meaghan found themselves back at the same lake house where they met, and despite the years apart, their connection and attraction to each other was still there. It finally felt like it was meant to be.

Alex was a little hesitant to pursue things with Meaghan because of the distance between Tennessee and Georgia, but he wanted to give it a shot. Meaghan drove up to Tennessee for their first date. Alex made dinner reservations for the two of them in downtown Nashville and ended the evening with a cocktail at a rooftop bar.

After a few months of long-distance dating, Alex asked Meaghan to move in with him and she of course said, "YES!" Four months after Meaghan moved to Franklin, TN, Alex was offered a promotion. He had been working hard and really wanted this opportunity. The only catch - the job was in Georgia. Alex and Meaghan loved their life in Tennessee, but it was clear that Georgia was ultimately going to be the place they called home. In December of 2021, with the help of Alex's mom, they found the perfect house in Roswell, Georgia to call their own. They ended up close to family and friends and continued growing their relationship.

Meaghan always knew that one day the two of them would get married but wasn't sure exactly when it was going to happen. In June of 2023, Meaghan, Alex and their friends, Paige and Jeff, took a trip out to Montana. One evening while watching the sunset at Meaghan's family cabin in the mountains, Alex got down on one knee and asked Meaghan to be his wife. To say Meaghan was surprised would be an understatement!

Montana has always held a special place in Meaghan's heart, but now it's even more special. Alex and Meaghan can't wait to continue to make memories in Montana, including their wedding day. They are so excited to celebrate with friends and family and show everyone how special Montana is.
