In Spring 2017 Evan was a freshman at Butler University while Meaghan had just transferred to begin her sophomore year as a bulldog. In a twist of fate they both enrolled in their required science class for business majors, and both picked Genetics. Evan sat with his back to Meaghan's seat throughout the entirety of the semester, they didn't speak once. During this semester a friend of Meaghan's in the class wanted to ask Evan for his number and reached out through the schools assignment software; Meaghan helped write this message after being shown how cute Evan was through photos as the friend worked up the courage. Sadly, Evan turned the friend down.

As the Fall 2017 semester started up Evan and Meaghan both lived with friends in Butlers Apartment Village. In the apartment lottery, Meaghan's friends picked M101, because it was right across from the live mascot Blue. Evans friends picked M301. The two never ran into each other during the Fall semester. Meaghan focused on swimming and her risk management degree, while Evan focused on greek life and his accounting degree.

At the beginning of the Spring 2018 semester, the pair recognized each other from their brief contact in that terribly early and long genetics class and reconnected. Evan officially asked Meaghan to be his girlfriend on April 1st, she originally believed it was an April Fools joke, but said yes anyway.

The pair dated for a long while until Meaghan moved to the Chicagoland area. Sadly, they became disconnected for the year at this time. But right before the start of covid, February 15, 2020, they reconnected when they both went to a Bert Kreischer show. Their friendship grew and grew and by the end of that year the pair was back and better than ever. The two were best friends from that point on. Evan continued to selflessly support Meaghan throughout her law school journey and the pair made time for each other when they could be in each others cities.

Finally, heading into 2023, Meaghan was deciding where to become a practicing attorney. She knew at this point she wanted to return to Indiana and Evan. The two have been inseparable since. Evan became the (dog) dad to Meaghans beloved Scottish Terrier Emma, and the pair adopted their second (fur) child in late September 2023, Sophia. The pair built their first home in Westfield and moved in October 2024.
