Meaghan and Jayme met in March of 2012 in Boston, MA.

Jayme had traveled to Massachusetts from Kansas to attend the National PE Convention. During this particular weekend, Boston was experiencing power outages. This canceled some of the convention's events and allowed Jayme some extra time to explore the city. Jayme would eventually end up in a Pub where Meaghan was listening to her father, Bobby, sing Irish Music. That night was the end of life as they had known it.

Because of the distance, they would keep in touch for the next 11 years until Jayme went back to Boston to visit Meaghan again. This visit was all the proof Meaghan needed to decide that if Kansas was where Jayme was, then she needed to be there too.
