Liam and I met at Texas A&M in 2023. I was a senior, contemplating my future while yearning for adventure. Deep down, I knew I wanted to escape to Denver with my beloved Saint Bernard, Aspen (Boogie). Liam, on the other hand, was focused on his master’s in finance and knew he was headed back to Houston.
But life has a way of changing our plans. Despite my initial reservations about Houston, God had a way of leading me where I needed to be. We started dating, and before I knew it, I was making plans to move to Houston after graduation.
We embraced our post-grad lives together, navigating the challenges of new jobs and adult responsibilities. Just as we were settling in, we received news that would change everything—we were expecting a baby girl. Initially overwhelmed, we embraced the news with open hearts, ready to welcome this new chapter together. Our faith became a guiding light during this time, and we turned our eyes towards God, seeking wisdom and strength.
Despite the excitement of becoming parents, we were determined not to let our pregnancy dictate the timing of our marriage. As Catholics, we understood the importance of preparing for this sacred commitment. So, we decided to proceed with Pre-Cana, engaging in the classes that would help us grow as a couple and prepare for the journey of parenthood.
On April 5, 2024, our beautiful daughter, Mary Frances, entered the world. Holding her in our arms for the first time was a moment of pure joy and profound love, the culmination of our journey together. With our hearts full, we were ready to take the next step as a family, excited for the future that lay ahead.
In October, during a quiet moment filled with love and anticipation, Liam proposed. I couldn't have been more excited! The joy of his proposal, combined with our shared dream of marriage and family, filled my heart with an overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude.
We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with all our family and friends. For us, this wedding is not just a celebration of our love; it is a profound sacrament that signifies our lifelong journey together under the guidance of God. We cherish the teachings of the Church, recognizing marriage as a covenant that reflects Christ's love for the Church itself.
Looking back, our journey from Texas A&M to our wedding day has been filled with unexpected twists, challenges, and blessings. Each step has deepened our love and strengthened our faith. Together, we are ready to embrace whatever comes next, knowing that our love story is only just beginning!!
