OUR STORY

We met one night out in downtown Buffalo at Allentown Hardware in the beginning of August 2018. We were both hanging out focused on having a fun night out with friends. They say you find your person when you least expect it! We went on a date to Thin Man Brewery and the Erie County Fair a few days later and then started talking everyday since.

In summer of 2019 we packed our bags and moved in Cincinnati, OH. We adopted Bandit shortly after and have lived in Cincinnati since.

Meg's friend since 9th grade Earth Science. Can be found brunching and sipping on Minkeymosas. Mom of corgi, Edwin.

Meg's new sister-in-law. Often found relaxing with her cat, Mimi, in the basement. Spoils Bandit with lots of gifts.

FAQs

We have reserved a room block at the hotel within 500 Pearl, Aloft Buffalo Downtown and at the Hilton Garden Inn Buffalo Downtown (see below). We also have a discount code for another hotel, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Buffalo Downtown. There are multiple other hotels in downtown Buffalo that are a short walk or Uber/Lyft from our reception venue.   We recommend booking as early as possible with the long holiday weekend. Also, please be aware that the Buffalo Marathon is Sunday morning, May 28th. Some roads may be closed in the morning prohibiting travel to our ceremony on time. Please keep this in mind if you are planning to stay downtown Saturday evening in a hotel different than our room blocks. Please reach out to Meg/Matthew for more details or more information.   We are happy to connect friends who are looking to share a room.

Outdoor Activities

These are some of our favorite places to walk and hike around Buffalo.

Enjoy beautiful views of the falls at Niagara Falls State Park and ride the Maid of the Mist. Niagara Falls is only about a 30 minute drive from downtown Buffalo.

This state park has lovely hiking trails and is located a few minutes from Niagara Falls.

Devil's Hole State Park

Enjoy Lake Erie at Buffalo's waterfront park downtown. There are various activities including renting paddleboards and kayaks, and restaurants.

Canalside

The Buffalo Zoo is located in Delaware Park, another great spot to go for a walk. The zoo is about a 15 minute drive from 500 Pearl.

A fun outdoor activity for the whole family! Guests can dig for fossils and get a tour of the local geology. I worked here one summer and it is a great place! About a 25 minute drive from 500 Pearl.

Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve

One of Buffalo's most popular hikes about 25 minutes from downtown. Located in Chestnut Ridge Park

One of Buffalo's most popular art galleries. Located about 10 minutes from 500 Pearl.

Albright-Knox Art Gallery

Food

Buffalo is filled with a lot of great food options, these are a few of our favorites. There are also a lot of fun local breweries!

Another one of our favorites breweries, we had our first date here. The brewery is about a 25 minute walk or 6 minute drive from 500 Pearl.

Thin Man Brewery

One of our favorites breweries with great food that is a 10 minute walk from 500 Pearl.

Big Ditch Brewing Company

One of Buffalo's most popular wing spots! A 15 minute walk from 500 Pearl.

Anchor Bar

A nice Italian restaurant with a rooftop bar and seating. We have a had a few dates here. A short, 10 min walk from 500 Pearl.
