Jay and Meg met by chance at McAbee's Veterinary hospital, where Meg's aunt worked as a veterinarian and Jay's mom worked as the practice manager. While Meg was preparing for surgery lab, Jay was working as a technician. After two dates each went their separate ways with no love lost. Almost 3 years later while living in Minnesota and North Carolina, Meg and Jay reconnected and began talking daily. Over Christmas break they shared an hours long date catching up over Christmas cocktails. Each knew that night this was something special.
