Formal attire. This includes a suit or tux for men and a floor length or below the knee cocktail dress for women.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love kids, our wedding will be adults only.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
We recommend guests arrive to the DAR no later than 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Where is the entrance located?
The entrance to DAR Memorial Continental Hall is on C Street. You will see a set of stairs that lead to the Portico. Please note that the wedding will not take place at DAR Constitution Hall.
Will events take place indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place outdoors on the DAR portico. The cocktail hour and dinner will take place indoors. Following dinner, dancing will take place outdoors under a covered area.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation will not be provided. The hotel room block is within walking distance of the venue. Alternatively, taxis and ride share services (Uber, Lyft, Alto, etc.) are all readily available from hotels in the area.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is limited metered street parking by the DAR. On Saturdays, a two-hour limit is enforced until 10 PM. There are parking garages located in the area on New York and Pennsylvania Avenues and 17th and 18th Streets.
What are the closest metro stops?
Farragut West (blue/orange/silver lines) and Farragut North (red line) are the closest metro stops. The DAR is a 10-15 minute walk from each station.
