You ever meet someone and it’s just so easy to talk to them? Like no awkward silences or lulls in conversation despite them being a perfect stranger no more than an hour ago? Well that’s what happened to Kyle and I and we are so happy to be a true Hinge success story.

Our first date was at plate 38 in Pasadena, we had drinks, a few appetizers, the restaurant closed before I could go to the bathroom, and I had to force Kyle to stop stargazing with me and get out of my car so I could go home and pee. Without telling him why so I could still look cool.

Our second date was at Montanas country night club, where Kyle was a good sport and attempted to follow along to all the dances he did not know how to do. He kept a smile on his face the whole night.

We discovered we had a lot in common. we both played DND with our friends, rode motorcycles, enjoyed camping, and liked the same bands. (Kyle had discovered the band he couldn’t get tickets to the week prior to our date was the same band I had seen TWICE in the same month hehe)

After nearly 2 years together, Kyle asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I slid him the engagement ring advertisements that had started appearing at the house. The algorithm was telling us something and I agreed. He told me proposing on Christmas was too cliche, thus throwing me off his scent. But it was coming, I could feel it in my bones like and old man feels rain in his knee.

When we landed in Texas to visit my mom and sister for “after Christmas” in January, I had no idea Kyle had shipped the ring to my mom. My sister showed up to the house as soon as we got there and suggested we all go to the park on the only nice day of the week this winter.

They had just finished building a gazebo for fishing on the lake and Kyle asked if I wanted to go look at it, the time had come, he was prepared for the big moment. I of course was oblivious to this and said “nah, not really”

He had to think fast, but I could see his disappointment so I corrected myself and said if he wanted to see it we could walk down. As my mom tried to come with us to “see the gazebo” my sister grabbed her by the ankle and dragged her back, knowing what was coming.

I said yes before Kyle could actually ask me to marry him.

We are very excited for the future and look forward to sharing our ceremony with you all. We guarantee the vibes will be immaculate, the speeches will be humorous, and the dancing will be the highlight.
