In July 2021 I decided to join Match.
As I was scrolling through the list, I saw Brad’s profile and was excited to see how many similarities we had in common. We both went to private school, loved animals, grew up near the beach and both lived in Charleston at the same time. He was very cute, and I LOVED his hair, so I decided to email him.
I hate to admit that it took four LONG days to hear back from Brad.
Our first date was at Legal Seafoods in Braintree. Over dinner we discovered that there were a few coincidences between our families. We both grew up in small seaside communities on the South Shore. Brad was from Scituate, and I was from Duxbury.
As some of you know, my father was the local veterinarian in Duxbury for 38 years. When my dad first opened his practice in 1977, he turned to the J. A. Webster Veterinary Supply Company to get him set up in business. He bought all his medical equipment and veterinary supplies from them. Webster was invaluable to my dad as he started his veterinary practice, and he continued to have a great relationship with them over the years.
Why am I bringing this up? It just so happens that John Webster was Brad's uncle. My dad had been working with Brad’s family for many years!
On another note, as you know my mother is (to put it mildly) an avid needlepointer and I also enjoy needlepointing. It seems as though our hobby is also popular with Julie & Kristin Chapman.
After our first date, we immediately hit it off and began dating. We quickly knew that we had finally met our match!
Megan – “I have always told my mother that when I get married, I would love to marry someone who is as kind and caring as my father. It took a while to find Brad, but he certainly is the kindest and most caring person I have ever met! I am so grateful to have him in my life and cannot wait to get married and spend the rest of our lives together.”
Brad- “When I met Megan, I thought she was beautiful, and I instantly felt a connection to her. We had so much in common and it was so easy to talk to her. It was like we had known each other for a long time. After our second date I knew that I loved her, she was a keeper! I am excited for us to get married and spend the rest of our lives together.”
At the beginning of May 2023, we took a weekend trip to Portland Maine (one of our favorite places), and got engaged.
When we were looking at wedding venues, we visited Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port. We fell in love with this beautiful and unique venue and its proximity to the water. We knew this was where we wanted to get married!
Brad & I are looking forward to our Big Day on September 22nd at Wychmere Beach Club and having you celebrate with us!
