On Aug 26, 2019 we had our first date at a Starbucks in downtown Edmonton. Technically we met online about a week prior, but this was also our first time meeting in person. We were both nervous, and pretty apprehensive, but after 3 hours of laughing and smiling we knew we had found something special. We spent the next 6 months getting to know each other. Many fun dates, meeting family and friends, and always laughing with each other. We had so much fun during this time and we made memories we will never forget! Little did we know the world would soon turn upside down for everyone.

COVID, as difficult as it was, gave us the opportunity to get to know each other much faster than it normally would have taken. We spent time camping in the living room, giving Scott haircuts, and had way too many picnics in the park. At the same time, it allowed us to support each other in ways we never imagined, and showed us that together we could make the best of any situation. As our social circles were limited, we spent most of our time with each others families. And after quarantining together for two weeks in a 1 bed room apartment and still saying I love you, we knew we had found our other half.

Right as the world was starting to open back up we had the amazing milestone of purchasing our first house. It was so exciting that we were building a home together and starting our own little family. It was busy and lots of work, but so worth it all. After settling in, our families knew that the proposal probably wouldn’t come too long after that.

This takes us to August 12, 2023 up in the Kananaskis backcountry where Scott proposed in a beautiful alpine valley, surrounded by wildflowers and mountains. Just the two of us for kilometres, it was the perfect moment. It was so exciting that neither of us can remember exactly what Scott said, but we’re pretty sure it was beautiful too.

Over the last few years we have been so blessed to be surrounded by so much support and love from family and friends. We especially want to recognize each others immediate families, who have welcomed us both with open arms and acceptance. And our amazing friends who have supported us throughout our relationship. We are so excited to celebrate this next big milestone with everyone on September 7, 2024!
