What day should I get there and when should I leave?
A welcome dinner is being organized for Friday evening (Jan. 17th) for folks coming in from out of town. And, there are rumors of some clandestine Sunday brunch(es) as well. It's also a holiday weekend so come ahead of time and stay a bit longer and explore Austin (perfect time so you don't melt)
Where do I stay?
Check out the Travel page on our website here.
Does Driftwood have an airport?
Nope, Driftwood has a population of like 106 people...and probably 10X that number in cows. But, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is just 28 miles away so fly in/out of there.
Invitation says to wear "cocktail" attire "plus layers"...what in the world does that mean?
It means wear something you'd wear to a cool cocktail party and ensure you bring some layers as Central Texas weather is unpredictable. If it's nice (e.g. mid to high 60s), we'll get married on the lawn. If it's not, we'll be under the tent with heaters on. And the reception will certainly be indoors.
What kind of food and drinks are y'all providing?
None, so please bring a sack lunch and a styrofoam cooler full of Lone Star. OK, ok, fine, we're serving a bunch of yummy stuff that properly represents the Texas Hill Country and a curated pairing of wines and beers (and non alcoholic drinks, too). Not to worry if you have dietary restrictions, we'll collect those after we get everyone's RSVPs.
I want to buy stuff for the happy couple, where do I find a list of things to choose from?
We are setting up a registry, even though we really don't need anything...well, other than a nice bit of acreage in Northern New Mexico (certainly don't be shy if you have some land you want to donate! :) ).
Can I make a speech?
Seriously? Can you remember the last wedding you attended where you enjoyed all the droning on and inside jokes? And if you say yes, it's surely because you were one of the ones making a speech! hahaha
I have more questions, where can I get answers?
email us at: info @ meganandaaronwedding dot com (but, put it into the right format...had to spell it out to keep the spam down).
