"We're a drinking town with a baseball problem." If St Louis is known for anything, it's the ability to make and drink beer. And clydesdales. At the brewery you can hang out at the Biergarten to enjoy a pint, take a tour of the brewery, or (Megan's favorite) take a tour of the Clydesdale stables! You'll even get to pet one!
Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the US-- it's bigger than Central Park! It's home to many favorite activities, some detailed below.
Located in Forest Park, this is St. Louis's free zoo-- ranked 8th in the nation. Say hi to the red pandas for Megan, and the giraffes for Tyler!
The art museum is also in Forest Park, and is also free! It overlooks Art Hill and the Grand Basin, and is the perfect place for a picnic.
Also free. Also in Forest Park. (are you noticing a trend?)
Also in Forest Park. You can rent paddleboats to cruise around the Grand Basin in. (Unfortunately, this is not free)
You decide: is this actually worthy of being called a National Park? Tyler and Megan don't think so. But the Arch is pretty cool. If you're not afraid of heights (cough, Tyler) you'll love the view of downtown from the top of the arch. Just don't look East.
Cons? Costs money. Pros? Cool leaves.
"It's a science center. Lots of fun, cool... It's a science center. There's a planetarium in there, there's an OmniMax theatre in there. If I remember correctly... uh... I forgot what I was leading to with that. But just go." -Tyler
If you want to explore outside the city, you can take a short drive to Lone Elk Park. It is a drive-through park where you can see elk, bison, and peek at all the gorgeous fall colors. The World Bird Sanctuary can also be found here.
If the Cardinals play well this year (doubtful), we might have a game going on this weekend you could catch. If not, you could still hang out at Ballpark Village just across the street, which is a collection of Cardinals themed bars and restaurants.
