Our Wedding

We met on a summer night in 2021, waiting in line to get into Claudio's. Meg was out with her friends Brooke and Lauren, and Jack was with his friend Eric. A conversation sparked over Jack and Eric’s to-go margaritas.After that night, we stayed in touch, going on a few dates even though we knew Jack would be moving to D.C. in the fall. Once Jack moved, Meg made a few visits to D.C., and before long, we decided to make things official.

2021

For about a year, we navigated a long-distance relationship, but it didn’t take long for us to realize we didn’t want to live apart. In the fall of 2022, Meg moved to D.C., and we spent a wonderful year together there while also planning our next steps.

2022

Wanting to be closer to Meg’s job and both of our families, we began searching for a place back on Long Island. In the fall of 2023, we found the perfect spot in Jamesport and moved back to the Island. Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to build our dream home, finishing construction in August 2024.

2023

During the Whirlwind of building our house, Jack proposed to Meg on a lovely December day at Kontakosta Winery in Greenport.

2024

Now, as we settle into our new home, we’re looking forward to the next big chapter: celebrating our marriage with all of you in June 2025!

Gardiner’s Bay Country Club (GBCC) is located on Shelter Island at 12 Dinah Rock Rd, Shelter Island, NY 11964.Shelter Island is a small island located between the North and South Forks of Long Island, in the Peconic Bay.Shelter Island is only accessible by ferry.The North Ferry runs between Greenport (North Fork) and Shelter Island, while the South Ferry runs between North Haven (South Fork) and Shelter Island.The Ferry does not require reservations, can be walked-on or driven-on, and runs continuously.

Where to Stay 

We are advising all guests to stay on the “mainland” North Fork in the town of Greenport.&nbsp;Guests can “walk-on” the North Ferry and there will be a shuttle from the North Ferry terminal on Shelter Island to GBCC (more details to come).&nbsp;If you are walking on the ferry, there should not be a wait, you should be able to catch the “next boat”.&nbsp;If you are planning to drive-on the ferry and drive to the venue, plan for up to 30 minutes wait time at the ferry terminal in Greenport.&nbsp;The ferry ride from Greenport to Shelter Island is approximately 10 minutes.&nbsp;The shuttle ride from the North Ferry terminal on Shelter Island to GBCC is approximately 8 minutes.&nbsp;The after-party will be located on the North Fork (in Greenport).&nbsp;The reception will end with ample time for guests to catch a shuttle and make it back to Greenport before the last ferry!&nbsp;Greenport and the surrounding area offer a variety of lodging, dining, drinking, and shopping.&nbsp;

We have reserved a room block at the Townsend Manor Inn for our wedding. If you plan to stay there and book online, please include "Nugent/Carrick Wedding" in the notes section. If you prefer to book by phone, be sure to mention that you're attending our wedding.The Townsend Manor Inn is conveniently located just a 5-minute Uber ride from the North Ferry. Our first shuttle will depart from the inn and take the ferry over to Shelter Island. More details concerning the shuttle are to come.

While the Townshend Manor Inn offers lovely accommodations, those looking for an elevated stay may enjoy the following options:

Jack &amp; Meg will be staying here on their Wedding night! The ferry to Shelter Island is a short (3 minute) walk down the road from the hotel and in the heart of downtown Greenport.

The Harbor Front Inn

Directly next to the Harbor Front, located in the heart of downtown Greenport. The Menhaden is only a short (3 minute) walk to the ferry to Shelter Island!

Silver Sands Motel is only a short 5-minute drive to downtown Greenport and the Shelter Island Ferry.

Getting to Greenport 

If you are flying-in, the best options are Islip McArthur, LaGuardia, or JFK. If you are commuting in from the NYC area or any of the major airports (and prefer not to drive), Greenport is accessible by train via the Greenport Line of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR - <a href="https://new.mta.info/schedules" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MTA Schedules</a>).Board the Greenport-bound train at Ronkonkoma, there are many train options from the NYC-area to get to Ronkonkoma. From the Greenport Station, guests will be able to walk to or take a short uber to any of the lodging options provided. If you are coming from New England, you can take the Cross Sound Ferry from New London to Orient Point (<a href="https://www.longislandferry.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CSF | Welcome</a>).From Orient Point, Greenport is a short 12-minute drive! Please reach out to Megan or Jack if you have any questions at all!

Shuttle Information 

Hello friends and family!Thank you so much for celebrating with us this weekend!We are providing you with this helpful document which contains a schedule + map of events, as well as the shuttle schedule…Bus #1 will make stops along the North Fork and at the hotel block, then take the ferry across to Shelter Island to the venueBus #2 will shuttle from the Shelter Island ferry terminal to the venue (for those who are walking on the ferry)There will be transportation from the venue after the reception as well as following the after party Please let us know if you have any questions at all! ~Jack and Meg

Shuttle Information

Please note that cash is required to board the ferry if you are walking on or driving onto the ferry. For Guests Walking Onto the Ferry:When you arrive at the ferry terminal, go to the small terminal building located next to the ferries to purchase your ferry tokens. A round-trip token costs $6 per person. Once you have your token, you can board the next available ferry. There is a small indoor cabin on the ferry where you can sit during the ride.For Guests driving onto the Ferry:If you are driving to the venue, the cost for a round-trip ferry ride for a car and driver is $26. Simply enter the ferry line and drive onto the ferry when directed. Once onboard, attendants will come to your car window to provide and collect payment for your ferry ticket.For Guests Using the Shuttle Service:You do not need to worry about ferry payment—shuttle bus fares have already been pre-paid, including the ferry ride. Important Traffic Advisory:Please be aware that there is a 10K race on Shelter Island tomorrow starting around 5:00 PM. If you plan to drive to the venue, we recommend allowing extra time for potential delays in ferry lines and local traffic.
