HOW WE MET

Walking to our first class at SFA I told my friend Kaylee I was planning on finding my husband the first day of college. Ambitious, I know. Low and behold, we walk into our SFA 101 class and I spot Michael sitting in the corner. I leaned over to Kaylee and said, "I am going to marry him one day. "

THE STORY OF US

Throughout our years at SFA Michael and I remained really close friends. We shared lots of movie nights, Phi Psi kick backs and parties, tailgates and late night chats. Everyone says the best marriages begin through friendship, right? We officially began dating my senior year at SFA and the rest is history. I graduated SFA in 2015 and began my career at Liberty Mutual . Michael graduated in 2016 and moved up to Dallas where he too began his career at Liberty Mutual. ( We both graduated with Radio/TV majors so naturally we end up in Insurance) We just bought our first house together in Aubrey, TX and adopted our sweet kitten, Sebastian. I cannot wait to see what our future holds.

THE PROPOSAL

Michael is the type of gift giver to ask the recipient if they want to know what the gift is just moments after purchasing. So, it is no surprise that Michael proposed just 24 hours after picking up the ring from the jeweler. I had just gotten home from running some weekend errands when I walked into a pacing, nervous Michael. When I hugged him hello his heart was beating so fast so I asked him why he was acting so odd? His response was, " I am not acting weird, you are acting weird." I turned my back to him for 30 seconds and when I turned back around Michael was on his knee asking me if I would marry him. It was such a sweet moment shared between just us. We celebrated with all of our friends later that night and got to surprise them with the news!
