Megan and Tyler's story is one filled with love, travels, and a lot of finance jokes. THE MEET The first time they met, Tyler intercepted Megan and her friend walking through the Tap. After a brief conversation Tyler thought she was nice and really cute. Megan does not remember this encounter.Flash forward a couple weeks and Megan and Tyler found themselves out with friends at the infamous dive-bar, Dugout. They spent the evening talking about careers, music, and traveling. When asked by a stranger how long they had known each other, they quickly responded, "oh we just met tonight." Shocked, the stranger remarked, "Wow, I could have sworn you had known each other for years." THE FIRST TEXT The morning after a fun weekend at the drive inn with a group of friends, Tyler was at the gym, when to his surprise, maybe: Megan Coppersmith, appeared on his phone screen. Elated and giddy, Tyler opened up his phone. There he read, "Hey it's Megan! So sorry but my friend had covid and you might want to get tested." THE FIRST DATE Megan was at her parents' house showing her mom a photo of this boy she had a crush on (Tyler), when all of the sudden, Tyler Goodrick's name appeared across her phone asking her on a coffee date. She excitedly responded yes. She didn't even like coffee. MAKING IT OFFICIAL Tyler asked Megan to take a walk along the canal to see the Christmas lights. Even on such a cold night, Tyler was sweating underneath his coat with nerves. On the bridge before the canal he stopped them, said a bunch of sweet things neither of them remember now, and asked her to be his girlfriend. Then they went to Giordano's and pigged out on deep dish pizza. ﻿THE FIRST NEW YEAR'S EVE It was an exciting time at Tyler's apartment. Their friends had gathered to celebrate Megan's favorite night of the year. While the party raged below, Megan and Tyler made their way to the rooftop where some snow flurries had begun to fall. I love you's were exchanged for the first time followed by their first of many New Year's kisses. MOVING IN In March of 2023, two and half years after first meeting, Tyler and Megan made the big step to move in together.Through months of searching, they finally stumbled upon a nice townhouse on the outskirts of Downtown Indy.The first couple of months were interesting, as the couple navigated working and sleeping schedules, interior design preferences, and differences of opinion on how to properly fold hand towels.A year and one new couch later, they have figured it out and are now living happily ever after, most days :). THE ENGAGEMENT Tyler had been working diligently. He had been taking steps to seek Megan's father's approval, research rings, and organize a surprise party with all of their closest friends and family.Megan was pissed. She spent a lot of time looking at her Pinterest board, wondering what Tyler was thinking, and ranting to her friends about Tyler's lack of interest in their engagement.On an incredibly beautiful October morning, Megan took her time getting ready for brunch. Tyler sat in the room gently urging her to get ready faster, while wondering why she was so opposed to an "early", 10am brunch.They arrived at brunch, with just enough time to spare, and Megan enjoyed a seemingly ordinary breakfast, while Tyler was shaking in his seat.After eating, the time had come. Tyler convinced Megan that there was a "Fall Festival" at White River, despite there being no such thing. As Tyler and Megan walked closer, and Tyler started tripping over his feet, Megan came to the realization that there was indeed no Festival.And just like when he asked her to be his girlfriend, on the bridge before the canal he stopped them, said a bunch of sweet things neither of them remember now, and asked her to marry him.
