Our Love Story

Our
 story begins many years ago on the campus of UNLV. Megan was a freshman
 at UNLV and pledging her sorority Delta Zeta. Michael was a senior at 
UNLV and a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity (as known as Pike). 
Michael was very involved with the fraternity and would frequently come 
into the Delta Zeta chapter meetings to tell all the sisters about their
 philanthropy events, parties and such that were coming up. And the 
Pikes always brought us flowers which was a nice touch. Megan thought 
Michael was really cute when he would come in and speak at the chapter 
meetings.&nbsp;

Fast
 forward 4 years later, Megan was a senior in college and graduating in 
just a few short weeks. Megan decided to attend a Vegas Young 
Professionals event with a few friends. When she arrived she saw her 
friend Kevin and went over to say hello. When she approached Kevin he 
was standing there talking to Michael. Kevin introduced us both and 
mentioned Megan is a Delta Zeta and Michael is a Pike. Megan said,
 "Hey, wait a minute, aren't you Mike The Super Pike?". That he was. We 
began talking and continued talking the rest of the night. The next day 
Michael reached out to Megan to ask her to lunch. After an amazing lunch,
 they scheduled a dinner date and had their first kiss on a balcony 
overlooking the lights of the Las Vegas strip. Which now has ended up being the last first kiss they both would ever have.&nbsp;



Megan
 and Michael spent the summer dating and getting to know each other and 
falling in love. Come fall Megan and Michael were madly in love and knew
 they had something special together.&nbsp;



Over
 the years Megan and Michael have experienced so much life together both
 good times and bad. They have traveled together many places, started 
new jobs, adopted a dog together, Michael got his MBA degree, Megan 
learned to ski, had many laughs and memories together.&nbsp;



The proposal



Megan and Michael travel to Colorado for Christmas with her family and to ski every year. During this trip,
 they had planned to ski a few days in Breckenridge before Christmas. As
 they were driving down the freeway they passed the exit for 
Breckenridge. Megan tells Michael, "Hey you missed the exit."&nbsp;He says 
"Oh I didn't tell you I found a hotel deal in Beaver Creek for tonight 
so we are going to ski there today instead." Megan said,
 "Oh my God that's awesome because Beaver Creek is my favorite." They 
spent a beautiful day skiing at Beaver Creek. During the day Michael 
tells Megan that they have to be ready for dinner at 5 pm&nbsp;as they have a reservation at Beano's Cabin for dinner, a place they had been trying to get into for years.&nbsp; It's 5 pm&nbsp;and
 they board the sleigh that takes you on an open-air sleigh ride to the 
top of the mountain to the restaurant. It's sunset and just beginning to
 snow, the sleigh ride was utterly romantic.&nbsp; They have the most amazing
 5-course dinner and the restaurant even has gluten-free bread and Megan
 exclaims this is the best day of her life because they have gluten free
 bread.&nbsp; They finish dinner and the server asks if they would like to 
finish their drinks by the fireplace, they say yes. Megan is thinking 
they are just trying to turn the table for the next guest and when she 
arrives at the fireplace and sees champagne and strawberries set up she 
says to Michael "Wow this is a nice place, complimentary champagne for 
getting kicked out of the table, I'll take it." They sit down in the 
rocking chairs for a few minutes and then Michael drops to one knee and 
asks Megan "Will you marry me?" She screamed&nbsp;"Yes!!!" and cried&nbsp;tears of
 joy.&nbsp;&nbsp;



Megan
 and Michael can't wait to share this special time with everyone and 
show you all a little bit of why&nbsp;the Colorado mountains are such a 
special place to them.&nbsp;

Itinerary For Weekend

Schedule of Events

Friday

 

6:30 PM – For anyone that has already arrived to town we would love to have you meet up with us for a non-hosted dinner at The Beaver Creek Chophouse in The Beaver Creek Village (one of our favorites in the village). 

 

Saturday

 

9:45 AM- For anyone that would like to ski, we would love for you to join us for a guided ski tour of the mountain. Please meet at the top of the Centennial Express lift.&nbsp; The tour does leave sharply at 10:00am so please arrive at the top of the lift by 9:45 am. 

 

10:00AM/TBD – Snow Shoeing with Michael. More details for those interested coming soon. 

 

Additional Activities:

 

We recommend ice skating in the Beaver Creek Village, exploring The Beaver Creek Village, relaxing at the spa, enjoying the indoor pool and hot tub at the hotel, driving to Vail for shopping in the Village or enjoying the tubing hill.&nbsp; 

 

Don’t miss complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at the base of the Centennial Express lift and throughout the village at 3:00 PM daily. 

 

3:30 PM to 5:30 PM – Join us for a hosted Welcome Après at The Colorado Tasting Room in The Beaver Creek Village.&nbsp; We love this little spot as all of the beer, wine and liquor are all local from Colorado. 

 

For dinner we highly recommend reservations for dining in the village. Some of our favorites include The Beaver Creek Chophouse, Toscanini, The Dusty Boot, and Saddle Ridge. If you’re looking to splurge Beano’s Cabin is fantastic and where Michael proposed. In Avon, Vin 38 and The Blue Plate are fantastic.&nbsp; And Vail has many amazing restaurants if you don’t mind a 6 mile drive. 

 

Sunday 

 

3:00 PM – Wedding at the Beaver Creek Chapel. This will be an un-plugged ceremony. Please keep those cell phones in your pockets.&nbsp; Parking at The Chapel is limited so we would recommend parking at The Charter and then taking the village connect on-demand shuttle to the chapel. 

 

3:40 PM – Group photo outside The Chapel immediately following the ceremony

 

4:00 PM – Guests requests shuttles and head to The Charter for cocktail hour

 

4:30 PM to 5:30 PM – Cocktail Hour

 

5:30 PM to 10:00 PM – Reception

Reception will be held here. If you want to be where the reception is held then this is a great place to stay.&nbsp; The hotel is ski in/ski out. Walk-able to the village and a .5 mile walk to The Chapel, don't fear the hotel has a shuttle and Beaver Creek has an on-demand shuttle so you don't have to walk if you don't want to.&nbsp;

We would suggest flying in to the Denver Airport.&nbsp; Beaver Creek is a 134 mile drive from the airport.&nbsp; &nbsp;You can then rent a car and drive or use a shuttle service like the Colorado Mountain Express.&nbsp;

There are lots of great hotels in the Beaver Creek area. Do note that hotel room rates in Beaver Creek tend to run on the higher side.&nbsp;&nbsp;Here are a few suggestions for those looking to stay in Beaver Creek.&nbsp;

Eagle Airport is about 27 miles from Beaver Creek. Flights to this airport tend to be very expensive but it's a great option for those that prefer not to drive as far.&nbsp;

Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE)

If flying in to Denver you can rent a car and drive. There are many options located at the Denver Airport to book through.&nbsp;

Rental Cars at DIA Airport

If you prefer not to drive yourself, there is a shuttle service you can book that will drive you to Beaver Creek. However, there are only 6 shuttle times a day so plan accordingly for the best shuttle time for your flight.&nbsp;

Looking for a more affordable but still convenient and close to the festivities hotel? Then Avon is a great option.&nbsp;

Avon is &nbsp;a few miles down the mountain from the main area of Beaver Creek. The town of Avon has a free shuttle system that will take you up the road to Beaver Creek.&nbsp;

Comfort Inn Near Vail Beaver Creek&nbsp;



Rates are pretty reasonable and they have free breakfast. We have stayed here before and it's nice. The bus stop is also just across the street.&nbsp; 



The Sheraton



This hotel is across from the comfort inn and the bus stop is in front of the hotel.&nbsp;

Avon Hotel Options

Looking for an even more affordable option and don't mind a 25&nbsp;minute drive to Beaver Creek? Then staying at a&nbsp;&nbsp;hotel in Eagle is a great option.&nbsp; We have stayed at all three of the hotels before and The Best Western is our favorite of the three.&nbsp;Best Western Plus Eagle Lodge & Suites&nbsp; The Hawthorne Suites by WyndhamThe Eagle River Lodge&nbsp;

Travel

Join us on the slopes doing the thing we love to do most.&nbsp;We would suggest getting some runs in before the wedding weekend so that you get the most out of your time on the mountain in Beaver Creek. Or getting a lesson before if you have never skied before and are interested in trying for the first time as lessons in Beaver Creek can be on the pricier side.&nbsp;There are many options in the area for rentals. We would suggest Christy's though as we have rented from them in many locations in Colorado before.&nbsp;

Downhill Ski

For those of you interested in cross country skiing or snowshoeing the Nordic Center will have everything you need.&nbsp;

Head to the middle of The Beaver Creek Village to enjoy some ice skating.

Ice Skating

Beaver Creek offers snow tubing directly on the mountain. It’s fun for all ages and opens daily at 1pm. There are several lanes and a covered magic carpet lift.

Riders must be 36″ tall. Haymaker Tubing Hill and Marmot Maze are accessed by riding the Buckaroo Express Gondola. It sits just below The Ranch, which is where the ski and snowboarding school meets. They sell food and drinks inside.
